Description: Gastro pub, overlooking the bay in Rhoscolyn on the Isle of Anglesey. Enjoy a drink, nibbles or meal in our garden, terrace or within the beautifully restored building with fantastic floor to ceiling gable wall. The Timpson pubs, collectively called the ‘Flock Inns’ follow the family’s unique high street management model under the guidance of Roisin, wife of company CEO James Timpson. The White Eagle, originally bought by James’s late mother, Alex, to ‘provide some great food whenever we stayed at our nearby holiday home’ was given a £1m makeover before setting the standard for nearby restaurants to follow. Alex, a prolific foster carer, created a pub for all the family, which has become a permanent part of an Anglesey holiday. Unlike the big chains, there is no pub standard menu issued by head office, our chefs are encouraged to create their own special dishes and many become established favourites.

Walked over here along the beach from the campsite by Outdoor Alternative. We were probably a bit scruffy compared to the Sunday crowd but were made welcome nonetheless. Had a very good steak and a good bottle of Sicilian house red. A good treat after an afternoon’s climbing.

We visited here on the off chance they would be able to seat us. Thankfully the lady managed to fit us in. The pub it's self is light and welcoming with a lovely seating area outside with a great view. I had the camembert to start followed by roast lamb and ended with an Eton mess. It was fantastic! The service was great, the staff were all friendly and efficient. I cannot recommend the White Eagle enough.

Popped in this evening on spur of the moment after a lovely walk with my camera around the Rhoscolyn headlands. Even though they were relatively busy being early in the evening, the staff made a bid effort to accommodate us and found us a lovely table.

We had only thought of a quick snack but their hospitality led us to deciding to have a full meal. The choice was better than I remember and a nice variation of food types. My fussy veggie partner chose the Caprese Salad with a side of new potatoes and she LOVED it, big change after the very very disappointing salads she’s suffered in Mallorca over last two weeks.

I went for the 7oz Welsh beef fillet steak with pepper sauce and it was absolutely gorgeous, perfectly cooked and presented. I’ve had steaks here before over the years but this was by far the best I’ve ever eaten there - perfect end to a cracking afternoon on the spectacular Anglesey coast

Went for a quick lunch as it was recommended and I wasn’t disappointed. On a quiet Friday it was quite busy which was a good indicator. I asked for a local beer and for food something quick and found a cod carpaccio with beetroot which was unusual so ordered it.
The beer was lovely as was the cod and the setting fantastic out on the balcony. The service was also great, so all in all fully recommended

Eight of us booked dinner, having been here once before, we were keen to come back.
The staff were friendly and efficient and there was a good selection on the menu. Although no vegan options were specified on the menu I spoke to one of the chefs who said he would be happy to rustle up a vegan meal with advance notice. In the event the lentil bolognese proved a winner for the strict vegan member of the party.

The pub is bright, light and modern with stunning views over the lovely beach and there was a nice buzzy atmosphere. There's a lovely decked area outside where we enjoyed post dinner drinks.

Definitely one to revisit, a great evening out.
