I had booked a whale and dolphin trip for my girlfriends birthday. The main reason was to see the gannet colony on Grassholm Island. It was a good trip and we saw dolphins but didn't make it to Grassholm due to the sea conditions. I contacted Thousand Islands Expeditions (TIE) to see if they were able to still get us to Grassholm on another day. TIE were excellent in the way they handled my enquiry and so we were booked on the RSPB Islands trip that took in Ramsey Island (added bonus) and our main goal Grassholm. Ramsey was stunning with the heather at full bloom and we were lucky enough to see a little owl soon after arriving as well as a red stag along with seals and their pups. It was then onto Grassholm and once more the sea was rough so once again time to get very wet. This did not deter us and thankfully all on the boat were determined to get to Grassholm. Our skipper, Martin, was brilliant as was our guide Liz, whos knowledge of these waters and it's wildlife was first class. The gannett colony did not disappoint! An incredible sight. We were also lucky enough to see a sunfish. Katie who handled our booking was helpful and very courteous. Booking with TIE was a pleasure and I wish them well for the future.

A super trip - no frills but the quality is in the knowledge of our guide Victoria and very capable captain of the boat. It's a great hour trip round Ramsey Island, wildlife notwithstanding - appeal to all ages. Oh & wrap up warm, chilly on the water. Also allow 10 mins approx to walk down - & steps are steep.

We all loved this trip around Ramsey Island. We saw porpoises, many seals and sea birds. The scenery around the island is spectacular and the boat took us into caves and small beaches. The guide was charming and knowledgable as was the Captain. We enjoyed looking back at the coast from out at sea. This trip is well worth the cost.

What a day and what an experience. Landing at 12 with 4 hours to stroll the island, Mother Nature at its best. Stunning in August with both smells and wildlife. Choughs, peregrines, shearwaters, gannets, porpoises, grey seals and early pups. Fantastic support by RSPB on the island make it a great exploration for all the family or a quiet stroll in your own.
All of this is weather dependent- good to go then take the opportunity. It is value for money and tack on the round the island to take you home at the end of the day. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful both onshore and afloat.
