Wonderful location, design, decor, comfort, and in keeping true to the ambiance of a small town in Mexico. We got to know most of the staff who were very helpful and a delight. Our 3rd floor room opened out to the patio below that was beautiful. From the staircase to the shower every detail was well thought out. There were only 4 rooms on each floor so it felt like our own home. Glass bottled water and Tequila in each room. Delicious organic breakfast and lunches. We even found some wonderful items in the gift shop. We purchased a wedding gift for our daughter that was a beautiful large oval plate with medium size plates made back in the 50's by an artist. The owner explained all about the item we were purchasing.
I could go on and on. Definitely liked San Pancho San Francisco better than Sayulita which was wall to wall people. We were there during Easter week when everyone is on holiday. We would return and stay once again in our beautiful hotel, Hotel Cielo Rojo.

Room Tip: Loved our room facing the dining courtyard below.

Stylishly appointed with many thoughtful details. The location of this hotel is excellent and the accomodations are a truly boutique experience; charming, comfortable and unique. The staff is flawlessly sweet, helpful and fluent in English. WiFi could use a boost.

Thank you for your comments. we really care and work at making your experience a pleasurable one. The internet and electricity in San Pancho and in this tiny seaside village can tend to be very inconsistent.

My husband and I traveled to San Pancho for the first time this month and decided to try out Hotel Cielo Rojo, as it came highly recommended by a friend who lives in town. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! It was just the right distance away from/to the town. Had a great, authentic style. Amenities were perfect and the staff was so friendly. Although we only ate at the Organic Bistro for breakfast, it was terrific and the rest of the menu looked AWESOME! We will be back!

As they say, the devil is in the details----. We arrived for a week's stay, and found a beautiful Boutique hotel. Our room was lovely, and the staff was very gracious and helpful. Our two best meals of the week were eaten in the hotel restaurant. But, there was noTV to help pass the time while ill with Tourista (the reason given?--- "we're organic"?! Filtered water was available, but not replaced daily by the maids, necessitating a 2 flight schlepp 2-3 times a day. Breakfast daily was included, but it turned out the only"choice" was a pathetic bowl of fruit, with traces of yogurt and granola (no sign of the touted special honey). Guests were not allowed to exchange it for another menu item, unless the alternate was paid for in full! Dinner (admittedly very good) was only served Fri-Sat-Sun. Many of the restaurant staff spoke not ONE English word; this in a hotel where 3/4 of the guests are Canadian or American. OK, I get the "learn some Spanish" arguement, and I agree. But isn't the hotel industry about making the guest comfortable? Why was our daily maid service not until 4 PM, if that?
I'll leave it at that, not to sound trite. In essence, the owner, who put in a disengaged appearance twice in the week, could easily resolve the above and other issues, with a little hands-on. Great concept, poor execution.
