3-Day Great Ocean Road and Grampians Tour from...
Reviewed 2 April 2018 via mobile

Easter break is a good time to visit the Grampians area, the weather was great and the view of course is amazing. Not many people which I was surprised. Walk took me 2 hrs 45 min and got to the summit just before sunset. Quiet and beautiful.

Things to remember:
-The hike can be a bit hard, steps in 2/3 of the hike and sand the first third.
-check weather and be ready, it was around 25 C during the day and dropped to 17 at night
-Bring water, snacks and a torch if hiking by night
- Carpark at the intersection of the main rd to Hall's Gap
-Bring camera or phone, view is worth it

I can’t find another write up on this subject. This was the best dancing cloud scene I have experienced anywhere in the world.

The closet I’ve seen is in Zermatt when the Matterhorn smokes sometimes....the cloud formations like a cigar tail.

I was lucky to witness the change from morning when the clouds had the upper hand to the heat of the day winning. This took place over ninety minutes from 8:30 am to 10 am.

I was staying on the Mt Sturgeon homestead as part of a package with the Royal Mail Hotel.

Words cannot describe what I witnessed. If you ever get a chance it’s a must do experience.

This takes I would say 1hr-1hr 20 up and around 45 minutes down, beautiful views of surrounding areas. It’s not too hard but slightly challenging if it’s hot I would say as both times we have done this it’s been around 32c. Well worth it :)

This is a really nice trail. Some lovely wildflowers were out. Nice gentle start that gets steeper but not too hard. Lovely views across to Mt Abrupt and a fantastic view from the top.

The track is easy to follow. It starts ascending through some trees and gets quite steep quite quickly. There are plenty of places to stop off on the way to enjoy the breathtaking views. It's really worth the walk up! There are also a lot of kangaroos and wallabies around too.
