To be able to walk across the path (dodging the kangaroos) to a selection of cafes and restaurants makes this a perfect location after a day sightseeing and walking - even though at this time of year the choice of eating places is limited, especially in the early part of the week. It may not be the most luxurious accommodation in Halls Gap, but everything was spotless. We had a self-contained unit with microwave, toaster and electric pan so we could have cooked more for ourselves. The second bedroom was very cold at this time of year, but with the electric blanket and the heater in the main room, we were very comfortable. The wifi signal wasn't strong, but we were able to check our emails and do a little internet searching without paying for extra usage.

We were given friendly and good advice when we checked in, and then we walked round the corner to the Information Centre. There we were advised on walks and lookouts that were relatively easy walking - and we were able to work out a great itinerary to make the most of a short stay.

Room Tip: There's a lot of choice. Ask to see the different configurations! At quiet times, they seem to allocate the rooms to minimise noise from neighbours.

Enjoyed a delightful weekend at this motel, we were booked into room 30 a deluxe spa room which has the spa in the main room. I had originally booked through wotif the last spa room available to wotif which was an exectutive spa room with the spa in the bath room but rang the motel direct and asked if they had a deluxe room left which he did so for a small extra charge I upgraded, We enjoyed a huge room at the end of the row so it was peaceful, had every thing we needed and the hosts were friendly and only to happy to help with any requests. The tennis court was right next to our room and the bbq within sight if you need it. Sitting outside the room the views are outstanding and within 100meters of the shops and restaraunts. Bed was king size with electric blankets with gas or air con available. We enjoyed a small walk to the Kookaburra restaraunt for very good food but take a small torch for the return walk if you are nervous about low light. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for room 30

We were at the end of a too short trip to Aus and decided to visit the Grampians and drive from there back to Melbourne. It is a lovely National Park, and the town of Hells Gap must be very busy at times, given the number of accomodation options, but Pinnacle Lodge, a motel complex was not very busy, nor was any one else. It was clean, but pretty standard motelish, though very convienent to walk to the little main street and cafes. An executive queen meant that the "spa" was in separate room with the mini bar and sink. Nice walk in shower room.Mattress too soft.Lots of kangeroos everywhere and flocks of cockatoos in the motel grounds.

The Pinnacle Lodge is a lovely hotel that is located right in the middle of Halls Gap. We have now stayed there three times and would definitely go back for the location. The hotel itself is a little dated and the indoor pool is not the greatest when you have 40 degree days. This time round it was a little disappointing that the owners did not let the kids throw balls, skate or ride their scooters. Obviously they are aiming at an older crowd. All in all it is still a great place to stay. All they need is an outdoor pool.

Stayed in Halls Gap after spending the day touring the Grampians. Our room was large and comfortable however, the bed was extremely soft compared to other locations we had stayed at recently. The location was convenient to restaurants in Halls Gap. Unfortunately it is the little things that weren't done right...charging for "extras" like using the spa in the pool as well as access to WiFi. We also had an influx of bugs in the shower/wash area which were not unexpected in a rustic location but still not a great feeling. We would probably look elsewhere if we returned another time to this area.

Our guest is correct in that we are surrounded by bush and wildlife which unfortunately means that sometimes some of them come inside. Once notified by guests we always remove the offenders immediately. Our indoor heated pool is free for guest use as are the BBQs and tennis court. And we appreciate the feedback about the mattress - we are constantly upgrading and a new one will arrive in the New Year.
