“A week of bliss... if only it could have been longer!”
My hubby and I needed some time together - some quiet, indulgent, adventurous and magical time. We didn't expect to get all 4 of these, but we did and more. Peter and his lovely wife have set up the lodge (we stayed in the Blue Wren) to the point that you don't have to bring along condiments, cosy bathrobes are at hand after having your shared spa bath together and the bubbly and snacks upon arrival set the scene. We've stayed at many places, but never have we felt so considered. The crackling fire place and easy to use TV/DVD made for cosy nights - honestly, it was pure relaxation.
The set up and indulgence, aside quiet is in the backyard, sitting sipping a tea with Grey Kangaroos scratching and sunning themselves, Crimson Rosella's looking at you inquisitively, little chubby wren's busy finding bugs to eat and the incomparable trill of the local magpies... we really felt our busy selves slow down here.
At the door step there are some AMAZING walks and hikes for those keen for fresh air and adventure. If you do stay here, don't drive past Wonderland - go to the Pinnacle and enjoy the trek. We will be back, as there are many more walks to be had... and quite frankly, we're addicted to the slow pace this wonderful place inspired. Again, thank you, it really was just what we needed. :)
Liked best:
The considerate set up of the kitchen - we love our food and it was fabulous to have such a well set up kitchen.
Liked least:
The bathrobes could have been fluffier, but really, I'm searching for stuff to 'like least'. This place is 5 star.:)
