This being the third time I have dined here I was circumspect as to whether standards had slipped. I need not have feared. As with the previous two occasions the service was outstanding , the food a delight, the surroundings stunning and the wine recommended was sublime. Cannot think of a time in recent memory when I have walked away from a restaurant as consistently good as this one. The only pity being I live in London and can't visit it more often.

We capped off a 3 day stay at nearby Moorabinda Lodge (only 150 m away) taking advantage of the Wednesday 'chef's Choice' 3 course lunch. A tasty and competently presented spread satisfied our group of 10. The starter of grilled watermelon was a quirky one, whilst the roast lamb main course was tender and gently spiced. I'd have rated the meal higher if the salads for the first 2 courses were more varied. Dessert was a crème caramel. Enjoyable if not audacious.
Service is unobtrusive and efficient, whilst the room is not too crowded and elegantly decorated. One can choose to eat outside on the terrace should weather permit.

Where to start!!!
Divine food, knowledgeable gorgeous staff and a stunning setting.

A destination restaurant complimented by the picturesque drive through the Dandenong Hills.

A lovely chat with the Chef revealed some of the reasons the food was so divine. Sourcing many of their ingredients from the local surroundings, growing many of their own herbs and vegetables and the smoked products produced in-house using their own smokehouse. The smoked flavour on the butter is just one of the little ingenious differences that makes them unique.

A beautiful Rose’ recommended by the staff from one of the local winery’s was a perfect match.

The only other time I’ve experienced a meal comparable to this one was by a Michelin star chef in Dubai and Coonara Springs wins hands down on quality and value. ❤️❤️❤️

Four of us had spent quite some time walking in the Dandenong’s on Saturday afternoon and we thought we would try and go to a nice restaurant for dinner...not knowing what was around, we call one of our children and they recommended Coonara.
Well…. we were so glad ... we went to this restaurant.
The food was just perfect...could not fault in any way, fresh and tasty. Good menu and not too big.... Food was so well presented and staff were so attentive and charming. They made us feel that we had been there many times.
Wine List was very good with some international wines also being available and were priced very reasonably.
We will return. Should put on your list if you are visiting the Dandenong Hills
