Excellent. Stopped with friends for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Atmosphere was perfect for a bbq. Brisket was amazing as well as the beans and corn bread. Will definitely stop in again.

I highly recommend Cooper's. The meat is cooking on a huge inside barbeque as you walk in, along with baked potatoes and corn on the cobb. The delightful smells tease your taste buds as you walk from the "downtown" stockyards across the stores parking areas, and view Cooper's sitting on a rise. I think most people drive there but we came from Fort Worth on the muni bus ($2,00 for the whole day). Walking was fun and interesting, more exploring of the area available. We took pictures with the local cowboy statues and signs. My brother paid $5.00 to sit on a long-long-long horn bull that was tethered and had a keeper that was dressed like a Dallas Cowboys' cheerleader and looked like one, too, and he liked both. Now about the food at Cooper's, melt in your mouth. I had the beef brisket, a huge piece, corn on the cobb, and a baked potato. For dessert I had blackberry cobbler with ice cream. The cook on the barbeque asked how much meat I wanted and I had a medium size. My brother had a large size and it was biggggg. The seating was long wooden tables that could accomodate probably ten people, seating yourselves. This is exactly the country style you are looking for in Texas. Oh, the bull was not at Cooper's, it was on the street in the Stockyards' shopping areas. Check times for the scheduled running of the cattle on the streets in the Stockyards shopping area. There are also Rodeos there. Fun, Fun, Fun.

A little different than what we expected when we walked in. You chose your meat from a grill first and then move on to chose your sides. I got the big chop for us to split and my husband also got a 1/4 lb of their sliced beef. He really enjoyed his beef and his Mac & cheese side .

7 of us went there for a late Sunday lunch. It was about2:15 pm and there was a line out the door. We got inside in about 15 minutes. The reason for the line is that you get to choose your food items me it causes things to slow down. There was no lack of seating. It is sort of cafeteria style in that you get your food in a line and then get your table. But that aside, the food was excellent. The ribs were meaty and fall off the bone. The potato salad was the best I had ever had at a restaurant. Beans were okay. Pulled pork and brisket sandwiches were good. The seasoning on everything was a little different than other barbecue places , but very good. The sauce was more like an broth, but again very good. The blackberry cobbler was good also. Overall a great experience. I would recommend it for a different barbecue taste.

This place is great and the food is fantastic! It is well worth every calorie because the taste of the BB-Q foods is sooo worth any calorie. I went with a half dozen co-workers for lunch one day. I had a “small” side of turkey with a salad. Thank goodness for the paper towels and napkins. In fact each table has a roll of paper towels on it for the customers. No matter how neat you want to be, there has bound to be a mess. One of my co-workers got three ribs and decided he should have only gotten two – he took the third one home to enjoy later. The dining environment is definitely casual and the noise level is loud with so many people talking. It’s like you’re sitting in an old large barn. But the atmosphere is also open and inviting. You can sit back and enjoy your food and your company
