In reading other reviews for restuarants in Galveston, the main complaint seems to be "everything is fried". Well not at Bennos if you get grilled cajun seafood platter, it is delicious, well prepared and plentifull, you can get red beans and rice and jambalaya as a meal also.

We stopped by on a Friday evening and had quite the wait till we were able to eat. You need to first stand in line and then eventually order. You then get a number to put at your table. The line moved very slowly and service to get our food was slow as well. The deep fried blue crab tasted strange - I thought that you were supposed to eat the shell and all, but it was way too hard to chew through. I tried crawfish here for the first time, and though messy, they actually tasted pretty good.

Ate here with friends. The location is very nice, right on the seawall and the staff were friendly. The portions are very large so if you're really hungry after a day at the beach, this is probably a good place to go. My étouffée, however, was rather bland compared to what I've eaten in Louisiana and even elsewhere in Galveston. Both my dining companions also felt that the poboy and fried fish they had were average.

Went there with a friend and ordered the shrimp and fish platter and the seafood platter with a cup of jambalaya. Fish was way over cooked, the jambalaya was over spiced but the oysters a and hushpuppies were decent. The service was good though.

Was in Galveston on a romantic vacay planned by my husband and we stopped by this place in search of crawfish. We had a couple of friends who suggested this place to us, and we are so happy that we tried it out. Huge portions, great service and the food is very good. I've never seen crawfish that big before, with huge claws, cooked perfectly. Awesome place to dine.
