The Casa Del Mar Beachfront Suites is an excellent stay for families. Our condo offered a large refrigerator, ample kitchen, comfortable beds for 6 and a beautiful view of the gulf from our balcony. We could walk across the street to the beach without getting our car full of sand. We had availability of washers and dryers to keep the wet clothes clean. We were so close to Walmart, restaurants, ice cream and a quick trip down 61st street to Broadway and the Strand. We parked under covered parking and could take stairs or elevators. We will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The balcony rooms are wonderful day and night.

Clean, lots of hot & cold water, great view, easy walk to the beach. This hotel has held up well and always provides a nice home away from home. We'll be back again.

Room Tip: Rooms towards the front of the hotel have better views of the ocean.

This is always our home for vacationing in Galveston. A private bedroom for parents, bunk beds for 2 kids, and a pullout sofa bed for anyone else. Full kitchen means you don't have to eat out every meal. Every room has a balcony and view of the ocean; beach just across the street. One block to Wal-Mart. Desk clerks were very helpful; looked up info on local events for us. All non-smoking rooms. (Smoking permitted on balconies only.)

We checked in without a problem to this property. We arrived at about 7 or 8 pm on Friday evening. We got into our rooms and ordered from a local italian food place which was amazing. However, when we woke up the next morning my back ached a little. I didn't think much of it. I cooked breakfast in pans that we brought. **Note** the room we stayed int Room 134 did have pans, coffe cups, short cups, call cups, bowls, saucers and flat plates and spoons and forks etc... but we brought our own pans just in case.

The next night we went to sleep on the same beds and woke up the next morning barely able to walk. I had a 6 hour drive back to dallas. I took aleve to hopefully assay some of the pain to no end. My son had no problem on his little bunk bed, but kids are resilient.

The maid that came to clean stole my sons stuffed animal. I know this because we made up his bed before we left for the beach for a few hours and the stuffed monkey was sitting on the top bunk on his pillow.

All in all the room was clean, nice, and well kept.

The people they have servicing the rooms are crappy cause they stole from us.

The beds are complete trash, and would recommend to the managers to buy new beds for the rooms or put some sort of mattress toppers. The view was great, and the fact that we had a kitchenette was perfect. But I don't think we will be staying again, I want to be able to walk after sleeping.

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay with us. I have discussed the room and bed issues with our Housekeeping Managers to assure they get addressed.
I called and spoke with your husband today, and informed him that we had mailed the stuffed monkey to your home address yesterday.
We appreciate your input and comments and hope that you will return in the future.

We stayed 3 nights and it was a good choice for our family of 4. The bunk was a bit tight for my 16 year old son, he liked the novelty of it. The matresses could have been a bit more inviting, but not horrible. U
Fortunately, the very tight kitchen/breakfast bar/futon area made for a few painful run ins. We really would have liked to stay beachfront further west, but would consider this in the future if waterfront isn't an option.
