I booked it thru "name your own price" from Priceline and after reading reviews, I didn't like the hotel and had low expectations. We arrived at the hotel on a Friday evening. The hotel is located at the corner of two busy roads. Getting to the hotel wasn't as confusing as some reviews described as long as you have figured out that you need to drive around the hotel to get to the front lobby. The hotel looked clean, room was nice though small. We got a room on 6th floor facing east, therefore the highway noise is minimal (AC is much more noisy anyway). The bed was OK but not that comfortable as you'd expect in a 4-star hotel. It has a swimming pool but it looked really tiny.
Although it's close to Galleria, getting there is much more difficult than those hotels westside of 610 as it is difficult to get on Westhimer Road and cross the short but very congested road to Galleria. I also don't like valet parking, not so much on its charge but more on convenience. I was with my family including two kids. We had a lot of stuff on vehicle and would like the convenience of getting things on and off vehicle by ourselves. Some reviews complain about $19 per day parking charge. It's actually just $6 more epxensive than self-parking at Hilton across 610. Some reviewers wonder why the hotel doesn't offer self-parking and my guess is because the hotel has such a small lot size and it doesn't have direct park to hotel access. From the garage you'll have to walk outside the building to get to the lobby.
We stayed for two nights there and feel this hotel might be OK for singles/couples but definitely not for family travel. When I was bidding on Priceline, I was really hoping for Hilton where we stayed and liked from prior expereince. I wouldn't choose this hotel had I had the option.
