This is a good clean property and they disinfect routinely. The night shift clerk, at 5am, I asked when the coffee would be ready he told me he'd get around to it. Now he sitting off to the side doing nothing. People make a place warm and welcome. How he got his job is unknown to me. While checking in I guess the manager came and left his SUV right at the door blocking the stairs and part of the entrance to the lot. Anyone coming into the parking lot had yo watch because of the way he parked. The vehicle stayed there more than 2 hours. Like I said it people who make the difference which has resulted in my low rating of this property. I won't come back here.

Stayed night before a flight out of Hobby Airport. The hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable. A great value with pleasant staff. Close to airport but quiet. Would definitely stay again. We drove to airport parking but would be an inexpensive Uber to and from airport if you need an overnight sleep. Some amenities closed due to COVID and no airport shuttle available right now, but room price was very reasonable. Check-in said there was grab and go breakfast but we didn't see it when we left at 5:45 a.m.

The main reason we booked this hotel was the site showed a free shuttle service to and from the airport. Even when you call their phone number they say press 3 to request a shuttle. There is no shuttle service. You should remove that from the site and from the phone options. We would have booked a different hotel that did offer a shuttle service. If you are planning on a stay here know that uber/Lyft will cost you another $30 plus a round trip to the airport. So you might want to find another hotel that still has a shuttle service and pay a little more.
We stayed 2 different nights coming into Houston. One night we stayed on the south side which was nice a quiet and the other night we stayed on the north side which was loud from the freeway that is next to. Also, they need better options for their free breakfast like so fruit.

Great customer service. Very clean facilities. I have stayed at this hotel several times and I have always been treated well. As a Marriott ambassador elite member, I definitely recommend this hotel. You will not find a better value.

I was subjected to this hotel through the Hotwire.com hotel lottery.
I had a very bad check-in experience with the front desk employee Taylor. She is very closed minded, curt, and UNACCOMMODATING to say the least. She would not accept a cash deposit in lieu of a credit/debit card hold citing a made up hotel policy (mind you other Fairfield Inns & Holiday Inns take cash deposits. They just send a housekeeper up to the room to check it before you check out. finances are strained for everyone due to Covid-19) nor would she allow me to purchase any beverages from the pantry stating that it was closed & that guests don’t buy anything from it anyway? (Which is total BS bc hardly any place is open in this area to get food at night without a car)
And why is it closed since the hotel is NOT serving breakfast as advertised?

Additionally the hotel is practically EMPTY and being a Marriott Rewards member I asked for a suite and she said no to that also. I’ve stayed at other Marriotts and have had MUCH better check-in experiences and stays.
This hotel employee (and policies) damages the brand that is known for bending over backwards to please it’s guests and be accommodating. Big miss on this one.
Go to the Holiday Inn or Drury Inn & Suites instead.

Rachel M, Guest Relations Manager at Fairfield Inn & Suites Houston Hobby Airport, responded to this reviewResponded 17 April 2020

M M,

Thank you for your review. Our hotel staff is doing what they can during this trying time, and still coming to work everyday to provide a clean and safe environment for our guests.

Every hotel has its own policies with Hotwire, and the policy that our hotel has agreed to with them is that a credit or debit card is required at check in. We can waive that policy on a case by case basis with reservations booked directly through the hotel or via Marriott.com, but with all third parties we are unable to change the policy.

Our pantry and breakfast are currently closed due to strict guidelines in place with Covid-19, and we are doing everything in our power to abide by those guidelines to stop the spread of the virus and protect our guests and staff.

We are very sorry that you were unable to be upgraded to a suite, but the staff specially treats each reserved room daily, and that means we cannot waiver from the room selections that are done each day.

As we are taking a day by day approach, we are hoping to open up more of our amenities per the governor’s requirements.
