This is the 4th time we have returned to this hotel over a number of years and hope very much it won't be the last. We recommend this hotel wholeheartedly provided you can cope with the amazing number of steps as the hotel is built into the cliff with limited lift access. The beach runs for miles of gorgeous golden sand. The village of Morro Jable just along the promenade has great selection of bars and a good supermarket. We stayed half board and the food was its usually very high standard and variety. The only criticism is the requirement to choose which sitting, it would be better to have ability to dine on a more flexible basis as some competitors do. The staff must all go to a Riu charm school before they start work- the maids and waiting staff ( special thanks to Juan Pedro) make it so special.
    Thanks for another super holiday!!

Really love staying here, just a trip down a few staircases and you are on a Golden beach and when your not in the beach mood the clean, blue pool is where to go with a area you can swim into the lobby it is very cool! Rooms are nice but could possibly do with a modernisation excluding the bathroom which is very well equipped! And the food... AMAZING the choice in unbelievable. I love Riu Jandia.

Room Tip: Pay a bit extra for pool view it is worth it as you may be stuck with view of nearby roads!

This hotel is situated very close to a wonderfully spacious beach and close to the old town and modern strip. There are a lot of steps despite the lift system however so those with mobility issues might struggle getting down to the beach and take a much longer route from the front of the hotel.

The facilities were just what we needed for a quiet family holiday. The hotel pool and Jacuzzi were a nice size, quiet and not too crowded. We never had a problem getting four sun-loungers together when we went to the pool mid morning. The rooms were large and well equipped but I would advise paying the extra for a sea view if you plan to spend time on your balcony relaxing. We were in B013 which had a view of the road and beach. The road noise was not too bad and we didn't really notice it when the window was closed and air conditioning was on. Our room had loads of towels and fresh beach towels could be collected from reception every day.

The staff were all absolutely fabulous and could not have been more helpful, attentive and polite. We arrived after 10 pm when the restaurant was closed. We were greeted at reception with a glass of bubbly or a soft drink each and were informed that a dinner had been left for us in the restaurant. The same occurred when we left for our early flight and a breakfast table was laid out and stocked for us. The food for breakfast and the evening meal was of a high standard and very varied catering for all tastes. One nice touch was that an ice bucket would be ready at your table full of whatever drinks you had ordered at the previous evening meal. Therefore there was no waiting around for a drink when you have started your buffet meal.

The Oasis Park nature reserve is worth a visit and the free bus stop is on the main road right outside the hotel (who can provide you with tickets for the park too). The old town has some nice seafront restaurants and bars with great seafood if you fancy a change from the hotel. The strip has some nice shops and supermarkets if you need and these are all within a 1/2 mile walk.

We travelled with Thompson who do not have a rep at this hotel but they were easily contacted by phone. The on site German TUI rep spoke perfect English and was happy to help the English guests so this was not an issue.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel and would happily return again.

Room Tip: If you are going to spend a lot of time on your room balcony then I would advise paying extra for a seaview room.

We just came back from a two weeks holiday. Stayed in block A beautiful sea view and right above the pool.
Cant say one bad word about the hotel. Absolutely perfect, clean, staff is very helpful. Food was amazing every day.
Our room was cleaned every day and the maids were so so nice. Kids were looking forward coming back to our room from beach beacuse the maid always left them a little suprise made out of towels.(swans, butterflies....)
Wonderful place and the beach is right on the door step.
Highly recommend this place is lovely and quiet especially if you have young kids.
    We will definitely come back.
    Beautiful

There have been lots of negative reviews recently but most seem to be fuelled my negative emotions and are rather inaccurate. Below are facts about this hotel:

The rooms are large, as you can see from lots of the pictures. The decor is also exactly the same as the pictures on trip advisor. If you do your homework before hand and look at pictures of the room/hotel you can make an opinion on wether you think the hotel needs a facelift before you arrive, rather than moan about it in a review. They are clean very well every day and bathrobes are provided.

Food- The food is of a better quality than all the restaurants on the strip behind the hotel. There is a variety of food to choose from and the main meals do change every day. Examples of meals: duck with orange, roast chicken, lamb, lasagne, risotto, paella, steak. There's a huge salad bar which is always fresh, lots of fruit. The only think that doesnt change is the range of desserts. If you have a sweet tooth and like to eat lots of different puddings you might be disappointed. The breakfast buffet is epic, smoked salmon, continental, cheese, meats, traditional English fry up, fruit, muffins, bagels, croissants etc... the only way you can consider the food to be 'bland' or 'repetitive' is if you always choose the same type of food. The lunch menu is great and not overpriced. When we ate here we had the chicken sandwich which was delicious. They also have tapas which was on another level.

Drinks-at breakfast these are all free and a big variety again. In the evening you do have to pay for them even with your meal. It's not an all inclusive hotel so we didn't arrive expecting evening drinks to be free.

Evening entertainment-standard hotel entertainment. Singers, dancers etc... not at all cheesy or tacky.

Pool-the view of the sea from the pool is breathtaking. The location of this hotel is perfect. There are plenty of sun loungers but if you want one overlooking the sea view then reserve it with your towel in the morning. There wasn't a mad rush for this though, there were always beds free but if you want a specific one then get it before breakfast.

Beach- beautiful and the hotel is situated overlooking it. It will take about 5 mins from your room to the sand. 2 sun loungers and an umbrella cost €13.50 for the day. There's a beach bar too.

Getting around the hotel- there are a lot of stairs and the hotel is pretty big BUT you don't have to take the stairs!!!! There are lifts everywhere. You only take a few flights of stairs to get up from the beach and then it's lift central after that! Someone said the lifts were slow, but you're on holiday. Who needs to rush the lift, especially when most of them are glass and you can see the spectacular view of the beach from them.

Staff-they are personable as friendly. The assistant manager Mark is so nice. He makes a massive effort to introduce himself and to speak to you during breakfast or dinner. When he is off there is another manager with a suit, we don't know his name because he is not as personable and speaks to staff most of the time.

Other guests- this hotel has mainly a German community and mostly families with young children. All guests are friendly and it's a very relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere throughout the days and evenings.

Shops/restaurants-5-10 minute walk away but carrying water back from the supermarket is a bit of an uphill trek so prepare yourself for that!

We were here on our honeymoon, the staff were absolutely lovely and made a huge fuss of us on our first night. Overall this was a relaxing break for us/extremely good value for money and we are already planning on coming back.
