Nice experience to walk in dunas like in desert. Try to pick a cool day or go in the morning, then you can enjoy walking barefooted. I wouldn’t go there in a windy day, you will be covered with dusty sand including your eyes and mouth. Note, if you go from the ocean deeper in dunas toward the lighthouse, there are plenty of nudists, and some of them behave quite strange, so maybe it’s not the best idea to walk there with kids or teens.

What a wonderful feeling to walk amongst the dunes, I shall return soon, the only time I have done something like this was when I lived in Oz

This was a must visit during our stay. The dunes are impressive and I had never experienced anything like it. At points it felt like you were in the desert (especially when you found a stretch with no other visitors). The sand does get a bit hot underfoot the later in the day you go but definitely good fun to climb and explore.

Great place for taking photos of the great sand dunes. Approach beach via the riu palace hotel and head right towards maspolomas. Great scenery and a relaxing break from the bustle of playa del ingles
