Very nice and tranquil room near the Comal River. We stayed in the Mountain Laurel room - bed very comfortable but if you wish to watch TV, you'll need to do a little rearranging as the TV sits at the side of the bed but we made it work. The room had two great porches. Breakfast was very nice - banana bread from a bakery in town as well as coffee, cereal, milk, and fruit. Definitely would stay here again.

This is not a good place for rowdy partying. It is however an impeccable room in a pleasant setting at a great location. While small, the room has luxurious comfort. Access is super easy and contactless. They even leave you local goodies and breakfast items including fresh milk and OJ. I thought this was a much better option than the local hotels.

I honestly think this is the best Inn we've ever stayed at in the United States. I cannot think of one thing to ding them on. Seriously. The owners are fully engaged with running this place, and it shows. That is the key I think, to running your own business--stay engaged. and be genuine. From the curb appeal to the sparkling clean rooms to the porches and plants and wonderful breakfast, to the comfy beds---this place is like walking into a warm hug. That's how my other half described it. Simply the cutest place with all the right things. If you want a large, crowded, loud, cement-structure place on the highway,, this is not it. Come here for the experience, location, history and wonderful ownership. You literally are a block from the Comal river, which you can enter right there off the bridge on Garden street. Schlitterbahn water park is right next to the public entrance to the Comal. Walking distance to some great places--Bootleggers, Oyster Bar, Citron, Faust Hotel, Alpine Haus, Naeglin's Bakery (who supplies the Inn's fantastic banana nut bread) and if you're a bit more ambitious, The Phoenix, Kraus's and a host of other great spots in downtown. Also Pat's Place, Union Diner, Tip Top Burger/ice cream, Spud Ranch. A bicycle would literally put you just about anywhere in the core of downtown. A little further is Gruene which is a charmer all on it's own. You can easily do a day-trip winery/vineyard/distillery trip up through Blanco, Johnson City and Hye. Just simply charming little communities. I almost hate to brag on this place because I want to come back and don't want it to be fully booked all the time. I guess that's a good problem to have.

Room tip: Any room would be great, we stayed in the Cypress Room. All have a terrific front porch.

Quiet! Bed was sooo comfy, need to know what mattress topper that was! Loved the bread and stocked fridge, such a nice surprise! The parking was somewhat iffy, we never had a problem, but could have. Cute neighborhood. Will definitely stay here again!! Thanks

My wife and I stayed in the Cypress Room, and it was clean and very quiet. The bed was quite comfortable. We enjoyed a great night's sleep after a day of tubing the Comal River and walking through some of the local shops. This was a great home base, as it is very close to downtown and the river. It was about a half mile from where we got in the river for our tubing at Texas Tubes. We also enjoyed the breakfast items, and a loaf of banana nut bread from Naeglin's Bakery was a great surprise! It's also walking distance to the bakery. I love that you use a numeric code to get into the cottage so you don't have to keep up with a room key. That's quite handy. Thank you for a wonderful and comfortable stay!
