Always had great Tex Mex here. The original owner / founder learned his trade from his Mother’s family restaurant in Dallas.
I have never been disappointed with Mi Cocina.

The hot sauce and chips are good and be sure to try the queso dip. Many Tex Mex places come and go but these guys are consistently good.

Go early to miss the crowds.

This was, unfortunately, disappointing for the one Tex-Mex meal while in Frisco. Was seated promptly and ordered a margarita which was served quickly and was quite good. The fresh salsa that was served with tortilla chips was also good. But as for the rest of the meal, while the prices are quite reasonable, the quality was just lacking. Both the tortillas and the queso dip ordered were extremely salty. The queso was also very thin and watery and while there were some chopped onions in there as noted in the menu description, it was completely missing the chopped tomato that was also in the description. Had the BBQ brisket enchiladas. Again, quite salty. But the accompanying rice and beans was lacking any sort of seasoning whatsoever.

The staff knows our friends by name and are super friendly. They have a really great bar area/atmosphere and if that isn't your thing...you can be in a separate area of the restaurant too.

Try the guacamole, Carne Asada, and the handmade margarita.

When you say Mexican food and fun, you say Mi Cocina at the Shops of Legacy. Mi Cocina has some the best Mexican food and drink you can find in DFW.
The staff is amazing. Managers Roger Garcia and Cinthia Coronado run this restaurant like a well oiled machine. They are attentive, aware, available and always visible at this restaurant.
Mi Cocina has an incredible bar with a fabulous staff. If you like a lively atmosphere with excellent service, amazing food and drink, try the bar.
If you want a more quite ambience, request the restaurant where you will still have the same excellent service.
The food selections from chicken and sirloin fajitas with the worlds best guacamole and drinks like the Dilemma are second to none.
If you are looking for an amazing experience, excellent food, great service, visit Mi Cocina at the Shops at Legacy. Ask for Roger or Cinthia. They will make sure your experience will be a memorable one.

Great Place for a Sunday dinner. Food was excellent upscale Mexican. Located among the stores, theater and down from the Marriott. Casual stroll along the lake after dinner.
