This Goose Island 1000 year old plus oak tree is magnificent. There are many very old oak trees here that survived Hurricane Harvey. The area was slightly overgrown but nothing can detract from the majestic presence that this tree makes. It is well worth the visit!

We stopped by but mainly to look at the tree. Didn’t want to pay to drive though the park. We didn’t have a lot of time

We visited this park to see whopping cranes in early March... The ranger on duty told us about three places to see them... And we did... Thank you...

Also visited the old oak tree...

A nice visit for out of town tourists

The Big Tree made it through Hurricane Harvey! This is a nice area. Be sure to stop and see the tree on you way to the park.

I've visited this park for years, and I love it every time. The ancient feel of this park feels like you are stepping back in time to the Texas I knew as a boy, back when it was a bit more wild and untamed.
