We understand that hardships abound since the hurricane last year, and we want to support the Rockport community, but we felt we were overcharged for this room (about $150 per nite total). It was extremely cramped (should only have held one bed), there was no room for the folding kitchen table, and literally almost zero counter space; we had to use chairs, the bedside table & the top of the refrigerator for "counter" space. There is no way we could have cooked a meal in this room; fortunately we had planned to eat our meals out.
There was a used beer bottle inside the porch railing when we arrived and a pair of men's underwear wadded up behind the bathroom door, obviously overlooked by the cleaning crew. The bedspreads felt "sandy" but otherwise the room seemed basically clean, albeit on the shabby side. There were no handy electrical outlets for charging devices, and the cord for one of the wall lamps simply hung free, with no place to plug it in.
The floor near toilet was sagging & tile cracked there, with a spongy feeling when walked on. But shower was good, with good pressure and plenty of hot water. And importantly, AC worked great and was cold, which is essential here.
The access walkway/porch for most of the rooms is very narrow so you can't hang out there, which was disappointing - literally no place to hang out with friends & family in other rooms unless you get the front rooms that have the attached patio.
The best thing about the property, definitely, is its immediate proximity to the water, and the rebuilt fishing pier - altho the pier is more narrow than standard. Still, a lot of fun and the views from the pier and front of property are beautiful. We enjoyed bringing chairs out there and having morning coffee and afternoon beer on the pier - and fishing!
We had a good time in Rockport and enjoyed the pier at Reel Em Inn, but this property needs some reinvestment in updating rooms to make them more appealing and more comfortable if they're going for more than $100 nite.
Owner was very nice in recommending places to eat, which we appreciated.

Room Tip: Get the front room/s that have attached deck/patio w/ picnic table/s; otherwise there's not a good place to hang out w/ others.

This was our second time staying here and everyone has a great time. We did a great job of feeding the fish so the next group should get the big ones. The pier is very well built just need to get the lighting all the way to the end. We will be back.

If you’re looking for a cheap rental here it is but Like they say “you get what you pay for “. There was a few issues in particular that are resin for my 3 star rating , first off the parking is little and crowded , second we had a flimsy door and a like fixture hanging in the bathroom and 3rd the water pressure was very low and to make it worse you could not turn the knob more that 1/8 - 1/4 turn because if so it would get so hot it was unbearable.

Room Tip: Check water temp before getting in so you don’t burn yourself.

Waterfront lodging steps from the lapping waves. Room was basic yet view of moon and sunrise exceptional. Road is quiet and docks are under rebuild but sufficient for fishing. Grills and patio ready for relaxing

Room Tip: Bring your own shampoo and towels
