At the west end of the amazing Escalante area in Utah, this small town has several motels and restaurants. The Circle Cliffs motel is not fancy nor expensive, but it is comfortable and reasonably priced. One bonus is the knowledgeable staff who have lived in the area for many years. They have in-room guide books for guests to read as they rest and plan their next hike in the Escalante area. The restaurant next to the motel serves a variety of excellent food and some unique beer. Wait staff is friendly and helpful. I have eaten at the restaurant over the past 20 years and it never disappoints.

Spent the night here as part of a cycling tour and loved it. There are three rooms, one with a kitchen and living area. They were all neat, clean, and you could tell that the owners put a lot of heart into them. It was nice to be able to have a warm meal inside while discussing the next day's itinerary. Jango the dog was friendly and welcoming while keeping an eye on us with all our gear.

Another nice touch was the self-serve farmer's market table. The fresh vegetables were awesome.

The beds were firm and comfortable. The showers nice and hot. A great backroads find for a peaceful night.

Stayed here in November. Owners warm and welcoming. Cats and chickens wonderful! Had two rooms. One apartment room w/kitchen and a single room next door....Comments about the Apartment: (1) surface clean (2) bathroom really run-down (i.e. holes in shower stall wall, shower door came off in my husband's hand when opening, wallpaper peeling hideously (3) electrical cords galore (4) many windows won't open and are duct taped where cracked, (5) no ventilation in kitchen (don't cook bacon!).... Comments about Single room: (1) surface clean (2) mattress cover came off and my sister-in-law didn't want to sleep in the bed another night.....just say'in. We left a day early.

Room Tip: I think it is "advertised" as having Wifi......However, the only way you might be able to connect is if you stand out in the yard, with the chickens, and point your phone towards the owner's house, sometimes you can connect on their wifi; the motel's wifi is not in operation.

The place had a superficial pleasant feeling. Small décor additions, like wall hangings, desk settings, etc. seemed a little too homey, but nice. The bed was ok for comfort, but could have been firmer. The bathroom was decorated in a homey fashion, but needed some restorations of some water damage and such. Despite the shortcomings, it was a nice place to stay. Watching the llamas across the street was nice.

Shabby chic charming rooms that make you feel like being on your own property. I felt grounded and relaxed walking up with the sun in the windows and spending time in the orchard with the dogs and the cats. Finally, I could have heating in my room without the noise of those cheap AC machines in motels. Room 1 has 2 queens, a living room and a kitchen; a bit noisy from the road. Room is the smallest, just 2 queens. Rooms is actually composed of 2 bedrooms, one of them being also a living room. The bathrooms might need some updating (bigger sinks, more counter space, new wall finishing). But, that's how they live din the 1920s, right ? Extremely friendly owners, with interesting life stories.
