Used to drive 200 miles to go here for dinner. Was sold 5 years ago, new owners taking short cuts, that are hurting the business. Used to have a special home made root beer, not any more. Had a great western theme, waiter, and waitress would dress the part, not any more. This last time, our waiter had a long beard, that was unkept, hair long pulled up into a bum on top of his head with what looked like chop sticks in it. This was a GUY. Looked like something that McDonlds wouldn't even hire.

I'm surprised by some of the lackluster reviews. We thought our steaks were very good, some of the best we've had. Beautiful log cabin/lodge looking place that was a tad chilly so take a sweater/jacket but also take an empty belly!-) Also thought the prices were pretty reasonable as well.

This review is a turnaround from the same Steakhouse I reviewed a while back. The problem was the air conditioned Restraunt. It was so cold in the Restraunt and so by the time the food came it was cold. We ordered a steak & shrimp. The shrimp was deep fried. It was hard to eat because it was overcooked. Could not get thru the hard shelled batter that surrounded the shrimp. The shrimp was not fresh and very tasteless. The baked sweet potato was cold and way to sweet. It ruined the taste of the already dry steak. I will never go there again unless the cook does a better job on the steak and the Restraunt lower their thermostat !
No recommendations.

I have never had to write a review that was less than excellent for Ruby River. Tonight was no exception. I normally have the Filet Mignon with the jacket yam and mushrooms. Dominique was our server. She was very attentive to our needs and did an excellent job for us. The food and service could not have been better

Our small group went to Ruby River for a graduation celebration at a non-busy hour. The wait staff tried to be helpful but they were very young and inexperienced. Food was OK, nothing special. Not a bad meal, just so-so. The decor tries to recreate a mountain lodge but misses in the attempt.
