I would recommend to slow down and stay here for a few nights. Gail is a wonderful host and this B and B is a great stop. The place is clean and there are many nice attractions near by. Consider this B and B.

Very charming and quiet place to stay. We enjoyed the helpfulness of Gail and her breakfasts were outstanding. She makes a stuffed French toast that is terrific. Enjoyed great conversation over wine with her in the evenings.

Stayed here as a family of 3 while we participated in holiday program at Karme Choling (nearby retreat center where the limited housing accommodations were full). Gail, our hostess, was clearly ready to do more care-taking for us than we needed - we were involved in our program and spent less time at the B&B than we would have otherwise. Nevertheless, she provided a friendly and warm place for us - it was fun to socialize with her and other guests, and at the same time we felt we had all the privacy and space we needed.

The building IS an old New England house. Amenities are updated to current standards, but the place retains its charm. It is NOT a modern hotel - and much the better for that reason.

Our stay at the Old Homestead was wonderful. Easily located just off I-91, the room was beautifully decorated and the bed was really comfortable. But what stood out more was the hospitality of Gail Warnaar. She was warm and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed and knew how to get wherever we needed to go.
And then there was breakfast, from the fresh fruit to the crème brulee French toast and fresh brewed coffee. Fresh pastry and warm entrees, everything was delicious, all served on a meticulously set table. There were cookies waiting when we came in at the end of the evening.
It is quiet. Being close to the interstate you would expect road noise, but there was only the occasional car that drove by.
We would definitely stay there again.

This is a very nice place: comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, and a charming hostess. Breakfast was served on time replete with yougurt, muffins, pancakes, juice, and coffee. We arrived early but were quickly accommodated.
