Old and in need of updating. The room smelled when we first entered - I though like urine. Hubby said just musty. We opened all doors and windows and it seemed to get better. (Thank goodness it was warm outside as we were able to leave them open all night.). Huge spots on the carpet which was disgusting. However, the room had a small couch and a small kitchen with a table and stools, which was nice. The bed, which on first inspection seemed bouncy and with noisy springs, actually turned out to be comfortable. No hairdryer, no clock, rather crummy tub and shower. No breakfast - not even coffee. Office people are nice enough without being friendly.
The price $94 including tax is about $50 too much. Right down the road is the Ho Hum Motel which looks neat and tidy. It also gets good reviews. Look there's before you book with Ethan Allen.
This reminded us of a place sportsmen might stay - just a place to sleep and eat. For men who don't care where they stay as long as they can fish this would be OK. For travelers who want a nice room, this is not it.

Room Tip: Maybe at the backs away from e street

Family owned and operated, everyone was very nice. Room is comfortable and easy, no frills but we were out exploring all day so spent minimal time in the room. Perfectly clean and accessible to Burlington activities. Nearby the venue Higher Ground which is convenient.

The Ethan Allen motel is a mom and pop motel like we stayed in when I was a kid. These have become much more rare. EA has basic furniture, is not elegant, but the wifi, fridge and flat screen TV worked well and the couch and door lock were new. I have stayed there quite a few times. Dave Merrill knows everything about Burlington, Vermont and the Quebec townships and is a wealth of good travel advice.

We got this room as it was the only hotel with availability during Columbus weekend. A definite "fixer upper "! If you're looking for a cheap, clean place to lay your head, this is the place. Don't expect much more than that. The esthetics were a bit dreary and worn. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly and helpful.

I've been in clean, basic mom and pop motels and that's what my wife and I were hoping to find here. At $85, the price was right. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The room was clean but threadbare and the TV didn't work -- which was a bummer, because we could have used it to drown out the sound of the guy next door threatening all night to kick out his wife for good this time.
