Unfortunately this was the last room we could find in Burlington because it was family weekend at the college. We really did not expect a super place considering what Motel 6 stands for ! But to pay $193.75 and get absolutely NOTHING is an audacity I cannot even fathom !!! No breakfast, wifi, shampoo, hairdryer, toilet lid, kleenex, a second chair, water that barely trickles out of the faucet, and to top it all off, our room was next to the side entrance, and either there were a lost of guests coming in at all hours of the night, or somebody went out for a cigarette every 15 minutes and let the door slam shut both ways ! Needless to say, by 3am we had enough and left !

Room Tip: stay away from the side doors, they will not let you sleep

You don't expect much from a Motel 6. We were looking for an inexpensive place in the area on short notice and this was all that was available. What we didn't expect was to find evidence that somebody with access to our room had been smoking meth in it.

When we entered the room, the bed - which is like sleeping on plywood, by the way - had a used meth pipe sitting on it. I left my card and asked the weekend duty manager to have the general manager call me, but I did not receive a call.

We could not have been more satisfied with our experience at The Motel 6 in Colchester VT. The price point was exceptional for lodging in the Burlington Area. Our criteria for lodging was very basic: A soft place to rest our heads and a hot shower after a full day of sightseeing, good food and physical adventure. Our needs were fully met as the two double beds were comfy, room temperature adjustable and sleep time very tranquil as the motel respects a 10pm quiet time. The shower was clean with plenty of hot water and towels. Bars of soap were provided. Rooms were minimalist in nature which included our beds, two chairs, a TV (with plenty of channels) and a long desk space. Wifi can be obtained for a nominal fee (per device, per day). I didn't need it so cannot comment further on its availability or function. I loved the faux wood floor-and the happy orange accent color on the walls. Staff was very genial, always greeting us with a smile and inquiry as to our stay. Coffee is on the first floor as well as some vending options-ice machines are on almost every floor. 50 yards from the motel is a McDonalds and Burger King or directly across the complex is the AMAZING Athens Diner. Fabulous breakfast-highly recommend! I always travel with my own toiletries and hairdryer-and you'll need those sorts of items (shampoo etc.) as the motel does not provide them. We had a car and there is plenty of free parking. Our daughter attends UVM and it was a quick 5 minute drive to campus and 10 minutes to her downtown apartment. I was FULLY satisfied with this lodging experience and will stay here again when my lodging criteria is for economical, basic and safe rooms with a wonderful staff to boot. Thank you!

Room Tip: We were given a room on the first floor to suit the special mobility needs of my mom.

Be specific about where you want your room if concerned about noise or smoke. It took a few rounds with reception to get this worked out. We had driven 12 hours & needed sleep.
They said they couldn't give us a room on 3rd floor until 2nd floor was full! (but only room left where they put us on 2nd floor was by stairwell & elevator where everyone traffics to go smoke outside, so noisy & smell entered room).
Finally we got a quiet room down the hall on 3rd floor, away from elevator, but..... arriving on 3rd floor saw that there were already rooms rented on that floor!

I called the morning before our reservation and requested a first floor room near the lobby due to my wife's foot ailment, and ended up 2/3 of the way down the hall. With our late CK in it was a wasted effort if the staff doesn't care and doesn't honor the request, even though they said it was okand done.
Noore tissues in the room, and soap as small as a silver dollar.
Also heard dods barking all hours after 10:30 pm.
