Friendly service, decent menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Lots to eat. Just a bit too heavy a hand on the salt cellar for my taste. But definitely a decent place in a small town.

Restaurant
Food quality is very good and the service decent. There are no screen doors or other mechanism to prevent flies from coming in from the outdoors which was mildly unpleasant during dinner.

Pool / Deck
Very nice pool with restaurant service, was very enjoyable.

Rooms
Rooms were clean, but the beds are lumpy and droopy, i.e. not comfortable. Since the rooms on the second floor are not air conditioned its necessary to use fans which are awkward in the small rooms. In the evening the restaurant dumpsters and staff break area are directly behind and below the room windows unfortunately. We were woken up several times as the staff dropped heavy items in the dumpsters and talked outside. Also, one staff member kept going outside to cough very loudly which was unpleasant.

We arrived what we considered too late for lunch but a bit too early for supper. The attendants were able to accommodate us. We sat at a table inside the nearly empty restaurant as it wasn't really dinner time. We could see the guests enjoying the pool and didn't mind the commotion of children having fun in the pool - wish we could have gone in, too! The Caesar salad was amazing. My beer battered haddock was delicious and hubby's chicken fingers were eaten in a flash. Despite a pesky fly, we enjoyed our visit very much. Oh...and the pomegranate martini was superb!

Dined there and chose to sit in the more casual room with bar & classic stone fireplace. Very cozy. Attentive staff who welcomes you the minute you set foot inside. The menu is quite extensive but, as one who eats fish or veggie dishes, I had a number of choices while my husband had tenderloin. From start to finish, Dillon (our server) was well versed on selections along with the variety of VT beers on tap. A good night out with only 20 minutes from Newport downtown.
