Spent a couple of hours here off an on throughout my week long visit in Middlebury and everything was great. I had a latte, a couple of regular coffees, a pot of tea, a panini, and a scone throughout the visits and all were reasonably priced and tasted good. The staff is super friendly and no one rushes you out of your table. There are various plugs throughout the cafe and it's pretty normal to see laptops open and people studying or working. They do close at 5pm so keep that in mind if you plan to settle in and do some online work.

A true coffee house. If you can name it, they do it, lattes, mochas, all kinds of flavors and types. They always have fresh pastry on the counter and they're really good! They do paninis and they do a bean burrito that's delish. If the upstairs is full they have a downstairs too, always ensuring room for more. I enjoy plugging in my iPad and unplugging myself from everything else for a couple minutes of peace at Carols. It's one of those places where you have to step up to the counter and order from the board behind where everything is written. Don't let that rush you, they're very patient and helpful and the vibe is always easy. Though the service is quick, very efficient. I usually order, find a seat, and the workers will bring your food to you when it's ready. I love the college town bustle combined with that Vermont ease that make something unique and charming about Carols.

As a Middlebury student, Carol's was my go to spot when I had a lot of work to get done and just couldn't spend another minute in the library. The staff is super friendly, and their drinks are fabulous. If the orange chili chai is on the menu, order it. You won't be sorry! They also make some very tasty soups, sandwiches, and pastries when you need a little something extra to fuel a long study session. It can get crowded, especially on weekends when locals and students alike head out to get some work done, but there are plenty of table and free wifi, so it's a perfect place to finish up that paper you've been putting off or catch up with a friend.

This is a super cute coffee shop tucked into the downtown Middlebury area! PLENTY of tables to sit at, and a good selection of not just coffee beverages but a handful of food choices as well. Make sure to get a Maple Latte - it's a great example of Vermont coffee!

Stopped here on the way to Burlington for a quick breakfast and coffee. The coffee was very good, and the salt & pepper bagel was outstanding. I've never had that flavor of bagel before, and it was amazing.
