After hiking on the TAM in Middlebury we were looking for a place to have lunch. We picked the Otter Creek Bakery on College Street. You can tell that the Middlebury College students and staff like this place as we saw dozens of them stop by. They have about 8 tables outside and very limited table space inside.
The menu has a dozen "Signature" sandwiches, 8 basic sandwiches, 4 paninis and a few soups and salads choices. We ordered 3 West Coasters (smoked turkey, avocado, sun-dried tomatoes, sprouts and pepper jack cheese) and one Grilled Chicken Breast Panini (grilled chicken, caramelized onions, watercress, salsa and VT cheddar cheese). Both choices were very good.
The choices for pastries, breads and cookies are quite extensive. We tried the Maple Meringue, Hazelnut White Chocolate cookie, Chocolate-PB-Coconut tart, Peach tart and Biscotti. All of them were very yummy.
The Otter Creek Bakery is a great choice for people visiting Middlebury and specially for those walking on the TAM. Easy parking on the street or in the back.
