Last New Years we stayed at Edson Hill, I wrote a review at the start of our stay as we were surprised by the transformation that was about 90% done. We weren't quite sure what to expect. Due to Trip Advisor rules on timing, I couldn't post a review immediately at the end of our stay. Nevertheless, we were quite pleased with the new version of Edson Hill! Fresh paint, new furniture and furnishings, bath rooms and the most comfortable beds! As much as we loved the rustic old Edson Hill, the new Edson Hill mixes modern, eclectic and hints of tradition.
Although it seemed children were welcome, we appreciated that it is a more adult focus and serene environment. (I hope it's kept that way)
Breakfast was delicious and varied. The wine list at dinner quite nice.
Carl was open to hearing our views as we were long time visitors.
Alas, we waited too long to book for this year and there's "no room at the inn". Next
year!

We stayed here for 2 nights and we didn't want to leave this beautiful place. It is deffinately a place to come back to again and again. At the minute you get to this amazing inn you realize you've reached a unique place. The whole property seams to be taken out of a postcard. You can see and feel that every detail matters and that they put great thoghts on the design. There are two restaurants in the place, both beautiful and both tasty. The is also a public area with working fireplace where you can sit and relax and maybe think about the next time you'll go there, because you will! The staff is warm and welcoming. Just perfect.

Room Tip: there are amall rooms and large family units.

From the minute we arrived here, we loved it.
We had a lovely room with an open log fire with all the amenities we could wish for. The bed was so so comfortable, most definitely the most comfortable we've ever slept in. In fact when we got back home, we tried to buy the same bed. The pillows and bed linens were beautiful. The bathroom had a great shower and facilities.
The breakfast served each morning was first class as was the evening meals. The bar was a lovely place to relax and enjoy a cocktail or two. The staff who look after you are attentive and informative, really nice people.
We can't praise this place enough and if we could go again?
Well, we definitely would!

What a wonderful find this place was! It has only been open just over a year and is just beautiful. Gorgeous and quiet setting in the hills outside of Stowe in Vermont. The whole area is gorgeous and certainly worth a visit, The main house of the Edson Hill Inn is decadently decorated in natural colors and furnishings (think wood, animal hides etc) and the restaurant is beautiful. We ate breakfast twice in the restaurant and the food is good and freshly made. The staff could not do enough for us too. The tavern downstairs is a pub type area that also does food. The restaurant upstairs also does food but we add dinner in the tavern which was really cosy and relaxed.

There are rooms within the main house but we stayed in one of the suites in a separate building - Hemlock House was the house we stayed in. What a fabulous room! Very large space, very big and comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom with under floor heating, white fluffy towels and soft robes, beautiful furnishings and best of all.....an open fire place with plenty of wood for you to light the fire. Absolutely wonderful.

Free WiFi in the rooms, board games in a lounge with a fireplace in the main house,

All in all a top notch stay at the Edson Hill Inn and I would certainly recommend and will definitely be staying again on my next visit to Vermont. I loved the place, very relaxing and very romantic too.

This is a long overdue review, one I'm hesitant to write for fear more people will discover this place.

My wife and I have travelled a lot and stayed at some amazing places. I've been waiting for a place like Edson Hill to resurface in Stowe, one of my favorite destinations. The new Lodge on the mountain is nice, but its not Vermont. But Edson Hill, from the breakfast, to the service, to the rooms, it feels like your staying in an estate not a hotel. So special!
