Our family of three stopped by right before Columbus Day as were on our way to the northern kingdom going through Stowe. Drove by it as the street facing entrance was a little unassuming. It was also pretty empty when we walked in at about 11:20am but the place was packed by noon. We ordered the poutine with their barbeque on top, a brisket sandwich on ciabatta, and a kids menu hamburger as well as their lemonade and root beer. Service was attentive, food was tasty and the visit was worthwhile. Total was about $55 with tip.

Our visit to the Probation Pig was fantastic. Got seats at the bar. Food was outstanding and promptly delivered (esp. the duck fat fries). Beer was fantastic. You can get short pours so you can have lots of variety. Prices are reasonable. Bar tenders friendly and attentive.

Four of us went to prohibition pig the other night with this being the 1st time for us. We got seats fairly quickly then the local beers started flowing. One nice part about the bar was you were able to order 1/2 glasses of beer to try instead of getting a full one that you may not be thrilled with then have to suffer with it until you can try another. The food was spot on starting with pulled pork poutine and pimento cheese balls. Yum. I got the house burger which the flavor was spot on but I do have to say it was a bit on the small side and no side with it. Come on guys. My wife got the Mac and cheese with added bacon. Hands down best we've ever had. I would go back to the pig no questions next time I'm in the area.

Visited this little gem on a Sunday evening (530pm). It was packed with at least a 30 minute wait for a table. However, open seating at bar which we snagged a high top. Fantastic service and food, especially for Vermont!! My wife ordered the Mac and cheese special. That was big enough for 2 adults. She enjoyed it, just wished there was more of a pumpkin flavor. When we visit Vermont again, we are definitely going back!

Beer a bit above average. Food average and sort of pricey for smallish portions. Would try another place next time
