In the village of Weston, VT, the Inn at Weston houses a restaurant that provides a gracious setting for an excellent dinner. The crispy duck is a diner favorite, and the fish dishes were excellently prepared. There's a nice wine list and a full bar and the setting is convivial, not fussy. Topping it off, George the pianist provides a range of show tunes and standards. Whether as a guest of the inn, or just in the area, dinner is a treat.

This was our second visit to the Inn at Weston and this time we chose one of the meals from their fixe pris menu which they feature on evenings that the Weston Playhouse is open. $29 brought you a choice of salad or soup, an entree and dessert. Service was good and the piano player added a lovely ambiance to the meal. We ordered a pork tenderloin and a smoked chicken breast which were served with jasmine rice and beans. Both entrees were done to perfection and the portions were just the right size. When we made our reservation, it was suggested that we come at 5:30 to be on time for the 7:30 show which worked out well....we left at 7:00, giving us enough time to order a drink at the theatre and sit by the Theatre's waterfalls.

The Weston Inn offers lovely ambiance. Whether dining indoors or out the setting is lovely! However, our visit beyond that left us feeling disappointed with what we'd hoped would be a delicious and romantic dinner. Our waitress was sweet, but seemed unfamiliar with the menu, as well as the wine/beer list. The food was good, not four-star by a long shot (I think the highlight would have to be the maple butter, served with the complimentary bread), yet my pork tenderloin was cooked to perfection and the 3 tiny carrots and 3 fingerling potatoes were quite enjoyable. Not much of a meal for $29 though.... Our visit was OK until my boyfriend asked to see the beer list. Our waitress was confused and I explained that the list was located in the back of their wine list, still looking mystified she went off to retrieve it, or so we assumed. A man soon came to our table and asked my boyfriend what he was looking for, "A beer list" he replied. The man then told us how all their beer is Craft Beer from VT (we live in VT) and was he more interested in IPA's or Lagers? "I actually like a stout or porter, something dark." The man said he didn't have any stout at the time, but did have a few darker beers and then left our table. We were confused and still curious about the beer list we had requested. After a few minutes the man returned with a beer and glass, which upon inspection was nothing more than a dark Lager and not a very good one. When our waitress came by we explained the whole strange incident and she apologized and let us know the man was in fact the owner! He however not only never came by to apologize, but was impersonal and the least pleasant if not most souring part of our entire experience. I would not return to this beautiful spot and feel the owner ought to take a hint and steer as clear of his patrons as we will from his establishment. So disappointing!

Our first time eating here and it was a pleasure . The scallop appetizer was fantastic . The pork chop was the best I ever had and the salmon delicious . Enjoyed the piano playing and efficient service as well as a very attractive dining room with a friendly bartender/host and live piano music. Everything top notch .

Hosts delightful, chef prepared food as good as it gets in Vermont, and in the summer a short walk from the very fine Weston Playhouse.
