Owner description: The Captain Timothy Hill House was built circa 1800 and is the oldest known house on Chincoteague Island. Originally built to have a wooden chimney...the replication of that chimney is now in place. Listed on The National Register of Historic Places and The Virginia Landmarks Register in 2011...a visit to this house is a step back in time to the early life on the island. Open to the public during the summer season with tours on Fridays 1-3 PM and additionally Wednesdays in July 1-3 PM. Other times by appointment. Admission is free but donations are greatly appreciated.

This carefully restored early 19th century Island house strives for complete historical accuracy and achieves it, it seems! The people who give the tour, are very knowledgable and make the experience fun. It's a labor of love, so it is only open limitedly from 1-3 on Fridays and maybe more during the summer.

We stopped by while out on a drive. Cute, little house that was closed at the time. However, some well placed cinder blocks allow you to peer in the windows and see pretty clearly most of what is there to see. A cool peek back in time if you enjoy historical architecture like I do. Worth the quick stop.

We didn't see the inside, but the chimney and the outside (along with the pretty day) was a must-see.

We didn't get to go inside, but checked out the outside..amazing tiny house, considering how they have become popular again

If living in a tiny house is your thing this would be the place. You can walk around and look through the windows everyday. But to go inside it's open only on Fridays at select times. Is not the original location but this spot makes for a good look. Not much parking but never really busy.
