This is one of two inss we visited on our trip to Virginia. Upon arival, we were abruptly greeted by the owner. She seemed hurried to get us a map of places to eat. Only rating them best to worst. Not asking any questions about what we like, the local venues, etc. She met us at the Farmhouse, there are two buildings in which to stay. Explained the layout, common room, breakfast. Did nt ask reqyests or anything. Never did she inquire about what our interests were about our trip. The room was clean and confy. However, a few minutes after arriving, our neighbors ( two rooms upstairs ) knocked and asked if we had bugs. They had quite a few stink bugs and lady bugs in their room. Casuing concern, they went to the woner and asked for them to be vacuumed. When the person arrived, our door was open. They never asked if we too had an issue.
It seemed tehir focus was on the larger groups staying at the main inn. The only thing that made this visit nice were our neighbors, whom we talked with quite a bit.
We think the owner/ operators could have placed moreinterest on our stay and told of local hi lights, drives, interesting spots etc. Comparing to an inn we stayed in Williamsburg, it pales in comparison. That owner who did not live at the inn, was there quite often and gave lots of suggestions. Took time at breakfast to engage her guests.
The last morning at Crozet Sugar Hollow, we were hurried into the inn for breakfast ( we are on vacation and were within the breakfast window time frame . After breakfast walking back to farmhouse, we noticed a goat pen, with small ones in it. All the owner said, was " don't touch the fence, its on" Not evern telilng us about them, though she knew we were interested. , had lots of lady bugs and stik bugs. Keurig Coffee maker had them too.
It is a shame, it is a beautiful location, just no hospitality.
