Located in what appears to have been a gas station, Pave Mint brings Texas smoke to the Shenandoah. Not your typical smoked meat menu, and maybe trying too hard because of it. Great offering of smoked meats is offered up in non-traditional presentations. The daily meat selections are not written in the menu as they change daily. Ask your server what is available. Chicken Poutine was served over polenta fries with cheddar cheese curds, brown gravy and an over easy egg. Heavy smoke on the chicken, polenta fries could be thinner, gravy could use more flavor. Popeyes chicken quesadilla was a bit cumbersome with 3-4 layers of tortilla. Did not stick together. Chipotle-hickory syrup was more sweet that sweat. French dip was served with Swiss cheese and a red wine au jus. Beef brisket lacked enough beef flavor and the Swiss cheese and red wine au jus further fought with whatever beef flavor was there. Broad selection of been on tap and nice friendly service.

I'll get to the point we ordered wings(original hot) and onion burger. Wings were dry and burger was dry I ordered it medium it lacked toppings also with average taste. Try at your our risk don't think we will be back. It has lots of beer and nice atmosphere are the pluses.

Its tough to find a really good place to get a handmade burger, but Pave Mint knocks it out of the park! Their burgers use locally grown organic beef, the toppings rock and they are cooked just right. Add to that really great battered fries and a pint of draft hard cider or a local craft brew and you have it made.

The place is a former gas station with smokers for their BBQ under the old gas pump canopy. Even the old car lift is used as a long table. Its a cool place where you'll see about anyone looking for some great food. We even ran into the guy that supplies the beef a couple times, he hangs out there a lot.

This was an accidental find in Front Royal, VA. My wife and I were traveling back home via route 522 from Richmond, VA with hope of having a late lunch in Flint Hill. The Griffin Tavern was closed to prep for a New Year's Eve party, we drove on. The Pave Mint caught our eye as we drove through Front Royal. 35 beers on tap was a pleasant surprise for two beer nuts. We only had beer there, the place is having some work done and it was rather chilly inside, but the menu looked really good (bar grub) and we look forward to a return. I had a Forearm Smash Imperial IPA from Oliver Brewing in Baltimore. It was most excellent, even at $10.50 a pint. Give this one a try.

Amazing Sangria! We bought the Brunch Platter with the beef brisket and the boneless short rib, which was spectacular! It was so tender!!
