Lamonica Brown, Navah Benton and Mr. Andrew were absolutely amazing at the front desk. Very kind, welcoming and they all embody the meaning of true hospitality. My family was there for a very special memorial for a passed loved one and everyone was very humbled and impressed by the hotel and the staff. Thank you so very much.

Room was spacious, our room faced the road. Would've loved the marina view but wasn't a big deal. The bed and pillows are super comfortable. You have a mini fridge in the room, a mini one cup coffee maker. To include 4 mini bags of coffee, glass coffee mugs, paper to go cups, coffee mate original flavor liquid creamers and sugar provided.

Indoor parking at no additional cost which is great. You swipe your room key card upon entering and park.

The restaurant has indoor/outdoor seating which faces the marina. Nice relaxing environment. The outdoor restaurant has a tv on the wall. We were impressed with the set up.
Breakfast buffet was decent.

We ordered room service, food arrived within 15 minutes.

The theme for the hotel is nautical. Has a "ship store" its unique. The reason why I gave 4/5 stars is because the hotel needs some updating.

If we visit the area, would definitely stay again!

I remember staying at this hotel in the 1990's when it first opened and it was really nice. The location in old town Hampton on the marina is fabulously situated. The owners and management should be fined for letting a nice property go downhill. This his a neglected hotel.

The staff is fantastic - friendly, helpful, and hospitable - they deserve a better place to work too! If it were not for the lively staff, I'd give this place one star based on the rundown feel of many areas of the property.

The lobby, bar and restaurant are nice, and the rooms are okay, but the bathrooms are awful. My teenage son put down a towel over the dingy and cracked tiles on the shower floor. I couldn't change hotels, it was sold out. My folks in other roooms had hit or miss responses to their rooms. The marina view surely made a big difference - but I had a view of the garage :-(

The only saving grace is the great location. Lovely Hampton University is across the marina, and the harbor tour boats are right outside the hotel's front doors. There's also a nice plaza with live music and a nice museum next door.

Nearby Buckroe Beach is a gem I shouldn't even write about as it seems like the best kept secret in the area. Only ten minutes away from this hotel and you don't have to brace the long trek and congestion at Virginia Beach (warning - no major tourist amenities - so that's the trade off).

The staff said it's being turned into a Hilton property so I hope it gets a big update!

This review is late but our stay was very good. The room was huge and extremely comfortable. The only complaint was the restaurant downstairs lets out strong smell through out the hallways. Other than that I highly recommended this hotel, it's very gorgeous. The price was really low and I am a happy customer.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher room and if possible a corner room

Had to spend several days here, great location at the marina . The hotel is dated and in real need of a upgrade. The rooms were not very clean, the sheer drapes in my room were badly broken, the shower was over a tub, but there was no stopper for the tub, so no chance of a bath. There were small holes in the bathroom wall where apparently something had been mounted. The entry door was somewhat difficult to open, as you needed to first pull down and then pull up. My daughters room the shower floor was almost black so she had to put a town the shower floor before showering. We also saw a large cockroach run up a wall in the dining room on our first night, and saw another one on the floor by the elevators on the third floor. The staff we met were friendly and helpful, but this place needs help, as in fixing and remodeling.
