The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere and our service was excellent. It was a little small, so I would recommend reservations. The food was really very good, from the caprese salad to all the seafood dishes, which were very fresh. the portions were generous.

Under new ownership, the physical appearance of Trick Dog has greatly improved. However, the menu is limited and the prices have skyrocketed. On my last visit, a Wednesday night, I was the only patron at the bar. Prior to that, the "kitchen" had not thawed out the chicken, so chicken dishes were not available. The new owner doesn't really seem to care whether there are people in the restaurant and that gets translated to the staff, which collectively just seem sad and uninspired. There are better, and more affordable, options in the area.

Everything about this place is great! Good food reasonably priced, great waitress, well stocked bar. Great sign out front- be sure to stop when sign says "playing". You won't be disappointed

Our party of 4 had 8 o'clock reservations. We were seated promptly and had a nice enough server. He was a little inexperienced but tried. We ordered a cheese board as a starter and it was wonderful. The dinner that followed, however, was awful. We ordered soft shell crabs,NY strip steak and crab cakes. When our food arrived the mashed potatoes and asparagus were cold ( not even luke warm) as was the steak . The crabcakes smelled off and were overdone and dry. When we told our server he apologized but did nothing to make amends like offering to replace the offending food. We asked to see the owner and we were told he was busy cooking and could not come out. It's seems the place is up and down as far as food goes after reading the other reviews. I think you are rolling the dice when dining at this cute bistro, but on the positive side the soft shell crabs were good.

Easy to drive by this place - but don't! Trick Dog offers fine food, relaxing ambiance and a friendly staff. Open for dinner only so plan accordingly so you won't be disappointed.
