Another great stay at the best little B and B in Lexington, VA! This was our 3rd stay at Frog Hollow, only for 2 days this time...wish we had been able to stay longer. David and John are THE BEST inn keepers, hands down, at any B and B we've stayed, and we have stayed in many. Their place is always clean, they are always welcoming and go above and beyond to accommodate their guests...no detail left undone. Breakfasts are always great! We arrived as guests, left as friends. Can't wait for next time!!

Bravo! Stayed here for 3 nights and couldn't be more pleased. David and John were friendly and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and the bathroom large. Each morning the breakfast was a nice combination of taste and presentation.and different each day. We took advantage of the grounds to take time from our sightseeing to spend time relaxing in the gazebo. Don't forget to spend some time on the upper porch in old-fashioned wooden rockers. The town of Lexington is a couple of miles away. Layout, food, and location! Bravo!

Greetings!

Throughout our travels to many B&B’s, Frog Hollow is one of our absolute favorites. David and john, the inns hosts are some of the nicest people we have met in a long time. The compassion and care they provide for each guest is truly genuine and amazing. We look forward to our next visit this fall and will stay in their detached cottage that has a small kitchen, deck and plenty of room to rest and relax.

This beautifully restored and decorated inn has warmth, charm and character throughout. You will find comfort and cleanliness throughout the inn both inside and out. The grounds are lovely and there are porches and a gazebo to enjoy. Deer are commonly seen while you are there and if you listen carefully, you can hear the small creek in from of the inn.

The breakfasts that they prepare are delicious and made with fresh ingredients, local jams and herbs from the town. Their attention to detail and décor is highlighted at each breakfast with beautiful dishes, fresh flowers and music. David is a talented interior decorator, John is an equally talented artist and handy man. They take time to sit and get to know the guests at breakfast and both are very skilled at interesting conversation.

As parents of a VMI cadet, we love the location of the inn. You could walk to VMI if necessary. David and John are very familiar with the area and are happy to talk with you about the history of Lexington, dining suggestions, or fun things to do throughout area. They enjoy having coffee with you and chatting, or simply providing a list of information for you to read and take with you.

Another highlight is that they own a lovely antique store in town, called “WOW” I have found several pieces that were in great condition with good prices. It never looks the same, each time I shop there it looks like a new store!

Lastly, they have two beautiful dogs that like to meet and greet guests as well. You would not know that they are even there, as you can’t hear or see them. They reside in the inn keepers unit.

But if you are a dog lover, ask them to bring them out. They are sweet and very gentle.

Simply, a great B&B!

Warmly,

Ann & Chris

We certainly enjoyed our stay at Frog Hollow. John and David are very accommodating and outgoing. They modified our most delicious breakfast to adapt to our modest dietary restrictions. The breakfast was the best of our weeklong stay in the Shenandoah Valley. We appreciated the quietness of our back room, the Tolley Suite with its quirky step up-step down access. The guys educated us on the structure and historical remodels which helped to explain their function. Additional, the understanding of the original design, which seems to be typical of the period helped us to recognize this design as we continued our travels north up the valley. Our main concerns as we patronize a B & B are cleanliness, hospitality, and the breakfast. John and David aced all three!

David and John run a quaint and lovely B&B minutes from Lexington and its twin colleges: Washington & Lee and VMI. Filled with charming antiques and bric-a-brac, cosy rooms and hearty breakfasts, a first choice for us in the lovely Valley of Virginia.

Room Tip: All rooms tastefully decorated.
