I was here with family to attend a close family friend’s wedding. First, the establishment wanted to charge a stiff fee for my daughter and son-in-law to have their 4- month old baby in their room! I was traveling alone so I volunteered to have him stay with me though my health is lacking. When these people say 2 per room, there are no exceptions.
Upon checking into the room, i was initially pleased with the size, furnishings and comfort of the room. However, it didn’t take long for several issues to pop up.
The room was quite dusty! The miniblinds were a mess, actually. Every adjustment brought a cloud of dust out into the room.
IThere were several live flies buzzing about...nothing to do with me. I was tired when I arrived, so I closed the door and climbed in bed to nap. The buzzing made it difficult to sleep. I noted by the number of fly carcasses in the sills, it was an ongoing problem.
Worse yet, were the extremely thin walls that shuttered and rattled every single time a guest came in the front doors and allowed them to slam shut. Not only did the noise prevent me from napping it kept my 4-month-grandchild from resting, also. He woke and cried until he was unable to sleep at all.
The bath tub had a leaky faucet which added to the Steamboat Willie cacauphony of noise. Every loud conversation or racous laugh came right down our hallway and under our door. Guests walking about upstairs had the ceiling creaking and moaning.
For over $200 a night, these just aren’t the ammenities one expects, especially from an inn with reputation as solid as this one holds.
