Having been recommended to us we had high hopes of this place, but were sadly disappointed by the quality of the fare on offer and the value for money. Perhaps we were just unlucky with our choices? This place definitely suits the Germanic palate, so if you’re not into pickled everything then steer clear! The lobster bisque had to have come out of a can and was served with a dollop of ‘squirty’ cream on the side! A side salad was served but this was smothered in an unidentifiable dressing which rendered it inedible. The seafood crepe was nice but only just warm whereas the plate was strangely hot. It was only just acceptable and we probably should have sent it back. The steak frites were oddly served with carrots and something completely indistinguishable as a garnish. The steak was of acceptable quality but only a very small portion. The sweet trolley (very 1970s!) failed to tempt us as most deserts were shop-bought rather than baked in-house and frankly we’d give up hope by then of getting anything decent to eat. The one saving grace was a very palatable bottle of Sancerre at just 32 bucks – very reasonable for restaurant prices. Needless to say we won’t be back though – try somewhere else!
