My fiancée and I had been traveling around Nicaragua for a month before happening upon Casa Cubana. We found out about this hidden gem from a recommendation of someone we met on Laguna de Apoyo.
Arriving at Casa Cubana was like arriving at an oasis. Lesley and Uli (the owners) welcomed us into their home, as it is more like staying at a friends house than actually staying in a hotel. The inner court yard is beautifully landscaped complete with a quaint little pool. The location only has 4 suites so you'll never have to worry about over-crowding or too much noise.
We stayed in the Ginger suite and loved it! It was our last night in Nicaragua and the best night of sleep we had in a month! The suite is two floors: bottom floor is the living room area with a plasma TV, a couch, love seat, desk area, and amazing bathroom (hot water and plenty of water pressure!); the top floor is reached by a spiral staircase where you'll find a very comfortable bed. Complete with air conditioning, it makes for a great nights sleep.
Breakfast is included and you won't be disappointed, ask for the Dragon Detox smoothie! We were sad to leave Casa Cubana, the service is impeccable, with Lesley and Uli and their phenomenal hospitality!More
