The trail is in good shape miles are clearly marked. Most of the trail is shaded and woody. They spray paint large roots to make sure they are visible.

This is a great trail for sightseeing, walking , or jogging. No bikes as it’s uneven terrAin, there are many ups and downs and you have great views of the lake. There are no lights so be sure to get out before dark! People do walk their dogs but I have never had any problems. Overall great trail!

It’s a great trail that is constantly being groomed and monitored. Lots of walkers and their dogs as well as runners and THEIR dogs! Everyone seems to do a good job of policing their animals - I have yet to see pet wastes on the trails. The Trail is gorgeous anytime of year with plenty of water features to distract you. Located in NewpoetNews’ museum district and minutes from CNU and Riverside Hospital, it is minutes from anywhere with lots of great parking. Just be careful of the tree roots that are exposed along the trails. Most are marked with fluorescent paint but it does get worn off from time to time and tripping can happen. It is well marked in length increments for a total of 5 miles. Any age is welcome and it seems to be quite safe. As with any urban or rural park, awareness and care is always your best bet.
