We had heard about this restaurant from a woman we met in Positano, who was from Agerola. We asked her to recommend a typical, local restaurant.
So, it became part of our quest to make it to Da Nicola, to meet the owner, Gilda, and to eat the local food.
We went for lunch, with no reservation and were seated immediately, by, none other, Gilda. She was very warm and gracious and offered to surprise us with a selection but my son wanted pizza and caprese salad, so we choose for ourselves. We also met her sister Rita, whom she introduced as the best pizza maker.
The tomatoes were delicious! The cheeses exceptional. Good pizza. Good pasta.

Simple decor. Casual. Reasonable prices.

Filled with Italian locals. Didn't hear any English... No photos of the food on the menu...a sign we weren't in a tourist trap. : )

After lunch, Gilda was recommending local sites to see. When she found out we had walked to her and didn't have a car, she was offering to drive us!
Great hospitality.
Thank you Gilda!

We stopped in after visiting Pompeii, hungry and exhausted. We were welcomed and treated with the best meal we could have imagined. The best part was when they invited the kids and I to come to the kitchen to learn to make gnocchi with La Nonna! What a great experience. And the people were so nice, they made us feel like family.
Caprese salad had such great tasting tomatoes from the garden. Ditto the bruschetta. Gnocchi was perfection. Desserts were too! We were so full we skipped dinner.
Highly recommend.

Perfect place with plenty of parking. Great value for money. Pizza's are tasty and so is the food. Great service as well. They will deliver your pizza for a small fee (was one euro for us). Good to know is that they also accept PIN cards. Definitely recommended.
