This was our fifth (!) visit to this gorgeous little hotel in Forio. It has a lovely position in a quiet area amid the lush Mediterranean greenery overlooking the long and sandy beach of Chiaia. The hotel is at 5 min. walk from the sea and 15 min. from the very attractive medieval center. Hotel Villa Hibiscus features one bigger outdoor pool and one indoor thermal pool, both perfectly clean. The room with balcony was always spotlessly clean and has a comfortable bed. The bathroom is small but clean and usable. The buffet-style breakfast with cappuccino and delicious Italian-Mediterranean dinner were perfectly suitable for us.

Villa Hibiscus is a 3-star hotel in price but it is in reality a 4-star hotel in service. The friendliness and warmth of the staff will compensate for any exstras you are seeking.

We would definitely stay here again if we return to Forio. We really recomend Hotel Villa Hibiscus! You won't be disappointed.

This is going to be a long review. I want to make justice to all the things that are really horrible and wrong with this hotel.
The first one is the price at 100 EUR per night this is a mid to expensive hotel. Therefore we expected to get a nice room, quiet, acceptable furniture, good bathroom facilities, nice breakfast and a decent view from our porch. We did we get:
Bedroom, the bedrooms layout follows a complex of small hats backing onto each other forming a horse shoe, with your neighbors right on top of you, claustrophobic with no air flowing between the hats and constantly listening to all the neighbors conversations a total of 20 hats. The deco and furniture/ bathroom was done back in the 70's and it has not been touched since then. If you walk bare boot in your room be ready to get black feet even though the rooms are made every day. This is due to years of poor hygiene and cleaning. You will wonder how is this possible with the good reviews this places has, maybe this is something to do with the average age of the guests staying at this hotel, around 70 years old.
Breakfast, we found this ludicrous, the waiter has this little habit of allocating you a table from the first day you arrive, this will be random and you cant change this at all for the rest of your stay even if all of the other tables are empty!!! Even if you try to seat else where on your first day you can not, he has already decided, even if the rest of the tables are empty. Moving onto the breakfast itself, coffee is good to be expected in Italy. The rest will be just a selection of a couple of slices of ham and cheese, one cereal choice, some yogurt, some bread and a costrata (kind of pie) bought in the supermarket, not fresh. This is the same every day all days. If any of those things run out, back luck for you because the waiters will not restock the table and you might and I say might get something restocked if you ask, btw they dont speak english, this was not a problem for me.
The hotel theme is 70's revival with every thing being really dated from the very entrance incl the hotel stuff so moving onto the hotel stuff, oh my good they are unhelpful, we booked a room with wifi in the room, forget it this is a scam there is only wifi if you go to the main building, and that is if you ask for it and managed to get it, we only got internet connection of the day we were leaving, day 5, the excuse is that the receptor was broken !? If you rely on internet connection for anything you will be stuffed!. So the hotel stuff, like I said unhelpful, trying to get anything from them totally impossible, they will show you that you are bothering them because you are asking for normal stuff. One other thing, do not book anything through this hotel, they have a 100% markup and make sure you check your bill as they will add stuff that you have not consumed or used.
Honestly this hotel is making pretty good money for nothing, and I really feel for the older people staying at this hotel (they normally stay on a full board) as they are being scammed. There is nothing positive about this hotel so spend your money where you will have a nice holiday, not here!

We have been at Hibiscus for a romantic week-end in Ischia.
Rooms: clean and with all the conforts that you need at the seaside.
Restaurant: food nice with a very good service.
Position: in a quiet area perfect for someone that want to be in relax but also close to the bars and restaurants of the city. The Hotel is at 5 min. walk from the sea and at 10 min. from the city center.
Ischia is fantastic!
Have a nice holiday.

We spent a week at the Hibiscus Hotel and I have to say that it was a very good choice. The hotel is located near Forio which is one of the best towns of Ischia, very close to the centre, the bus stop and the sea. Our room was clean even if a little small. The hotel is located in a quite place, and it is sorrounded by a nice green area. The food is decent, but I would suggest to get only breakfast treatment. Overall it is a quite nice hotel!
