The Ashby Inn's kitchen is in good hands again. We have visited twice in the last month and had very good meals both times. We were there for lunch and ate outside. There is a lovely patio. Carlos, the very professional head waiter came with Chef Tom Whitaker from the famed Fearington House in North Carolina. The menu is perfect for the place. Enough choices of recognizable food. I had the fish and chips. Amazing. Well of course Chef Tom is English!! Both my wife and a friend had the excellent mushroom risotto. The forth of our group loved the flank steak which is prepared rare. For starters my wife and I shared the white fish salad which was the only disappointing dish, little white fish flavor. A better choice was the pear, ham and mozzarella salad with balsamic. We are so looking forward to our next visit.
