We went on their second night of opening. We expected there to be kinks however, based on the prices, you would expect at least the food to be good. We fortunately were only a party of two so it wasn’t long to wait. Place was crowded. No room for people waiting. It was cold out so everyone was jammed in the entryway or sitting on stairs. There was only one small bench for 2-3 people to sit on. Service was not bad. Soup tasted like half bottle of salt was in it! Barely any crab which was disappointing considering it was crab chowder. Also served Luke warm without any crackers/bread, etc. My husbands fried fish was okay but generic....not the quality you would expect,at their prices. We also had shrimp skewers which were very good. The fries were straight out of the freezer bag... place was extremely extremely NOISY!!! Could not even carry on conversation wig my husband sitting across, the table. The entrance/exit to kitchen is at ends of bar. Servers and patrons all order drinks at the same area where people stand around and servers come out with full trays of food. Poorly designed. Doubt if we will be back. I am afraid this will turn more into a karaoke bar or something. Patio was beautiful but too cold to go out the night we were there....oh. Parking....good luck. Only 2 handicap spots.

So glad to see this seafood restaurant open in Suffolk. Just off the busy Route 17. This wonderfully decorated place has instant charm. The outside deck will be a favorite place to hang out this summer. I visited this brand- new restaurant twice in the recent weeks and was impressed by the food and service. You need to add this to the list of things to do in “Surprising Suffolk”!

The decor & views are awesome! We went Saturday for lunch, arrived just a little after 11am to beat the rush. We had a group of 11, they got a table together and seated us almost immediately. The service was very good, especially considering the size of our party. The shrimp basket was great, the fish taco were delicious, as well as the seafood platter(shrimp, scallops, flounder & crab cake). The crab cakes are a little on the small side, my husband got the crab cake sandwich and was a little disappointed. Said it tasted great, just wasn’t much of it. We will go back for dinner after the newness wears off a little

Went to this newly opened restaurant which was standing room only. Guess you have
to give them some leeway to get the kinks out but there were a lot of kinks. We waited
for over an our and at no time could they, or would they tell us how long the wait was.
Reservations are NOT accepted, I guess because they got more business than they
know what to do with. Once we were seated we found it to be very noise. Our waitress
came to take our Oder after awhile and found out we didn’t have menu’s! Once we got
our food after about hour and forty-five minutes we pretty much wished we had not. Very disappointing. Guess you give up a lot for a new place and a waterfront view.

We have been anticipating the opening of Decoys Restaurant since it was announced. We arrived on a rainy Thursday evening thinking that perhaps we wouldn't have to wait very long for a table. Not so. Even though we could see at least 5 empty tables available, we waited 45 minutes on a small bench which we had to share with another woman while our husbands stood in the tiny entrance foyer. Most people were ushered to the bar to wait but since we don't drink there was really nowhere else to wait. Still, since we've been to their other two local restaurants (Vintage Tavern and Riverstone Chophouse) which are quite good, we hoped it would be worth the wait. Not so.

The fried shrimp were burnt, the fish tacos were falling apart, and the crab and corn chowder was thick but had little crab or corn. The french fries were crinkle cut freezer variety (and barely warm). All of that for premium prices. The staff was inexperienced and it showed. We will NOT be returning.
