The staff were pleasant and helpful, but this Red Roof Inn definitely shows the corner-cutting of a cheap hotel. Our room was mostly clean (except for a few bottlecaps), but the appliances were ancient. The knobs on the air conditioner were broken, so pliers were needed to change our room’s temperature. The stairwells in the building were dimly-lit (some of the lighting was out) and dirty.
Red Roof also seems more concerned with profit than amenities. Guests must watch ads to get un-throttled Internet access, and the click-wrap needed to make this very annoying scheme work made it difficult to use their network. Breakfast was stale cereal, instant coffee and various kinds of white bread.
Overall, this is a cheap option, but hardly worth making a detour to stay at. Without the friendly staff, this would be a Poor hotel, to be sure.More
