Our last visit here was actually in April 2015. It's a fun short ride through mostly pirate-themed scenery (not sure why there was a dinosaur, but it's all in fun). The very young (under 10) might get startled and/or upset from the random surprises and dark atmosphere, but there is nothing gruesome. There is a live actor who pops in and out, and they seem smart enough to gauge the intensity according to the youngest on the ride. They may even offer some pirate booty at the end (some gold-colored trinkets). There's no dips or ups and downs. This is classic old-school carnival stuff, with interesting moving props. It's short and sweet and a great rainy day thing-to-do.
The only thing I fear is, as of our return trip in April 2016, we could not find it. I seriously hope it is under renovation or being relocated. This, along with places like the Mirror Maze, 3D Fun House, and Nightmare Mansion are things that bring memorable charm to the Virginia Beach Atlantic Avenue strip.
-Rainy day activity
-Short (approximately 5 minutes)
-A little pricey (look for coupons at your hotel)
