Generally, Occoquan is fun but recognize that most of its restaurants are nothing special, just tourist kind of food--bring em in and get em out without too much damage on the wallet. This restaurant is average--you won't go wrong and you won't leave thinking it was great.

Rumor has it that "The Landing" Restaraunt from the northern neck is going to be moving in and renovating it and putting in a very nice place to enjoy dining on the Occoquan, openning sometime in the Spring of 2014 ......to be continued.

Dined there in September , three of us , order two steaks dinners and one shrimp pasta dinner , as well as three beers . The beers were good . The only complaint by my dinner guest was the steak was not very warm..grilled to medium ; the shrimp pasta had the pasta not yet at the al dente stage but the shrimp was good ; my steak , medium rare , was warm enough...but portions could not be cut even by a steak knife . my salad looked like it came from one of those instant salad mix you by a stores...should have been thrown away..as I told the server ; lettuce was turning brown and the tomatoes were on their last legs . Only in that area once a year but there have to be better places to dine.

Not surprised at reviews to date because every time I have been stuck nearby on 95 and escape looking for an ideal place to wait out the traffic snarl, I am attracted to this ideal location overlooking the water. This place could rock similar venues in other similar waterside settings (Annapolis, Solomons, etc), but it always appears to be a relic of the past in the off season with sluggish or inattentive service (even when slow) and desperately in need of a wake-up call.

To many bad experiences! This place could be a diamond in the rough.... its just rough now though.. . Was once a bustling place for boaters and local followings, seems to have gone astray along the way and out the channel and down the Potomac River . It would be really great if they allowcated more slip docking for boats stopping in and out for drinks and or dinner. Has sooo much potential but , FAIL!! Hope someone can take it over and get it together.
