Decided to have dinner at this restaurant based on Tripadvisor reviews and I am glad we did! It was surprisingly good! Had a basic burger (which was very tasty) and then ordered the onion rings as the side dish. They were outstanding and came with a horseradish type sauce that was outstanding. If you are looking for a basic but very satisfying meal- I recommend stopping here.

We stayed in a local Airbnb (check out Andrea and Beth's Yurt in Mount Vernon, its AMAZING!) and they recommended Train Wreck for their Bloody Mary. The Bloody Mary is topped with a TON of bite size goodies. Mini egg and bacon biscuit sliders, cheese, salami and ham, olives, bacon wrapped potato bites, meatballs, the list goes on. There was even a slice of apple (probably to hold other bites in place) that was delicious, crisp and sweet. There literally was not a single "garnish" that wasn't fresh, flavorful and satisfying. And best of all the Bloody Mary itself was spicy and just the right consistency of vodka, mix and tomato juice. The staff was also fantastic. We were greeted quickly and felt welcomed by everyone working there l. We would definitely recommend this place and plan to come again.

We arrived at 1 o'clock The gal known as Q was very rude when we stepped up to the bar as she wanted to clean the table and did not addresses us in a friendly fashion .We did not receive our meal til after 2 o'clock. The young bartender which we did not catch her name was very professional and on top of everything! And one of the waitresses named Nina was very cordial and helped us to find out when our food was coming!
We will be back but if we are rudely addressed when we are seated we will not be back again!
Awesome food! Funny how one person can leave a bad taste in your mouth

The Train Wreck Bar & Grill is located in an old building the middle of "Old Burlington" right next to the tracks. Like most establishments of its era it's fairly narrow and deep. The tables and seating arrangements are functional and will likely never be shown on Antiques Roadshow.I guess the Saturday evening atmosphere could be best described as busy. There wasn't, however, any effort by the staff to rush people along. The food (at least what I had) was excellent as were the two other meals at our table. Although it's more than 40 miles from home I'll have to go again real soon. Remember too that some of the best oysters in the NW come from just a few miles away from the Train Wreck and they do them right.

This little gem is a delight that we make a point of visiting every time we go to Burlington. The food's delicious and filling--we like to order the grilled cheese with tomato soup and add the tasty onion rings to the sandwich for extra crunch. It's never a disappointment, which explains why it's always busy and has so much loyal, repeat business.
