This is a quiet place to relax. It has a view of East Sound but no beach access.

What modern facilities and comfort! Our stay included hiking and touring, visiting and dining in wonderful weather and breath taking beauty. Our three day stay was just the retreat we needed. We will go back again.

We stayed at this lovely little farm July 1 thru July 4, 2007 and it exceeded our expectations! It is conveniently located mid-island, near the Orcas Island golf course just three miles from the charming village of Eastsound. On an island well-known for its beauty and pastoral delights, Laughing Moon Farm is a jewel. The property overlooks East Sound and each cottage (there are three - Gate House, Trout House and Zen House) has a water view filtered by trees. The cottages were built by hand (and precisely) in 2005 of light, white knotty pine, tastefully decorated and outfitted in all you need to be comfortable, including a little gas stove for warmth. (There are two other heating systems which we didn't need at this time of year.) A completely equipped kitchen, dining table, full bath (with complimentary shampoo and conditioner) and family room leave little to be desired. The windows facing the body of water called East Sound are large; there is also a deck with table, chairs and gas grill.

We had fun picking and eating wild raspberries, visiting the farm's three Cotswold sheep and Leo, their llama. There are also a couple of resident rabbits and more deer than you are likely to see in several years at home.

It was lovely to wake to the sounds of woodsy birds, an occasional sheep bleat and nothing else but sunshine.

The owners are easy to deal with: courteous, organized and very laid back.
