This place is quite big. Lots things to do such as kayaking, hiking, picnic and sightseeing. We hiked and took pictures of the adjacent island.
The hike is moderate and any age level can access it just make sure you supervisor your kids.

If you are arriving from the north, the first thing you see is the bridge with beautiful views of the water on both sides, and lots of tourists with cameras walking out onto the bridges to get pictures. If you haven't done it, you need to. There is parking on both sides of the bridge and you need a Discover Pass to park there. On our trip this September we camped in the State Park. We arrived on a Wednesday and had our choice of spots without a reservation. That's the beauty of being retired is that you can come to places like this mid-week. Of course that trick only works here after the kids have headed back to school. This place is packed continuously during the summer months and a reservation is essential. Plan well ahead, like right now, for next year. We stayed in a non-hookup site (#197) a very short, easy walk from the beach. We had easy access to the restrooms and showers, too. I highly recommend camping here if you can. Beach walking is one of the key attraction. You need to watch the tides if you want to walk toward the bridge. One of the great amusements is watching the F-18 jets from Whidbey Island NAS flying training missions overhead. There's lots of jet noise then, the 'sound of freedom.'

It is a beautiful place, a little high, and not as convenient to go down, and up the stairs, the beach area was pretty small, and you need to be prepared to be dressed appropriately when walking up and down the stairs. It is worth visiting once a year, even driving through the area helpls to remember the beauty we have here, in WA.

Well worth the entry fee - this place is just beautiful. We parked in the car park and walked along the beach stopping to sit and just enjoy the peace and beauty.of this area.
