A local business recommended this restaurant and we were totally impressed! Authentic Mexican fare and market! You will not be disappointed! From the homemade tortillas to the fresh pico salsa, the meat & vegetables are fresh and cooked to perfection. Service is fun too.

My husband and I ate at La Michoacana (Mexican) restaurant in Spokane last night. We had a little trouble finding it because the address we found online wasn't right--it's actually at 9907 E. Sprague, across from Winco and a Subaru repair place. The food was very authentic and the service was great! It's the only really authentic Mexican restaurant we've found in Spokane. The prices were very reasonable too. The atmosphere isn't that great--it's a huge open room--but there are about 6 booths along one wall--that would be a cozier place to sit than at the tables out in the center of the room. One probably has to get there early to get a booth; not sure if they take reservations. They were doing a good business so other people have discovered the restaurant. There is also a small bar, a tiny Mexican bakery section, a tiny Mexican meat market, and a Mexican dry goods store in other areas of the building. We'll definitely eat at the restaurant again!

If you are a fan of Taco Bell and Azteca then don't bother coming here but if you love real, authentic Mexican cuisine then this is the place for you. Mole, Menudo, Birra, Lingua, Tripa, Nopales, cesos, ...things you don't find in Americanized Tex-Mex chain restaurants are not only served here but are all fresh and delicious. They do also serve all of the "traditional" plates such as tacos, tamales, rellenos and some massive burritos and they are all delicious also. Their salsa is my favorite restaurant salsa ever and they make their own corn tortillas fresh daily. They are so soft and moist they have the consistency of a flour tortilla but the authentic taste of a homemade corn tortilla.

My wife and I go here at least once every other week and considering we only eat out maybe two-three times a month that is a pretty good percentage of our restaurant budget.

We had dinner on Cinco de Mayo. They had margaritas on special for $4.75. However, I ordered mine frozen and with no salt. I got it with salt and on the rocks.
Chips and salsa were good though. They serve it with a plate of hot refried beans to dip. Salsa was spicy and hotter than most, which we like. Not the typical mild stuff.
What we didn't like was the one large room of open seating. it felt like eating in a cafeteria. They could use some room dividers or short walled cubicles to make a more personal setting and not so open.
Service was OK. After seating, it took awhile to get menu, water, chips. Then awhile longer to place our order. The servers are noticeable with their authentic multi-colored dresses and well staffed. Nice signage and interior decorations was nice.
One thing, the cactus featured meals (Nopales) wasn't fresh. It was canned pickled cactus.
They have a meat market, dessert area, bakery, grocery store inside. The FLAN was good, plentiful and good price at $3.50

Located across from Winco this "hole in the wall" looking restaurant/market is fantastic.
The table salsa they provide is some of the best Ive had. It has a smoky flavor most likely from Chipotle being added. It also get complimentary chips, beans.

I have the Chicken Mole and for the first time in years I have found a place who klnows how to make it. The saucy was a little sweet but with some bite..Very good balance.

The burritos war HUGE..you definitely can get 2 meals out of it.

The street tacos were good but there was some gristle in the carne asada.

the market isnt much of anything but the food makes up for it.

They also have a meat and pastry section which was rather empty during our visit.

Two thumbs up
